Javier Verdura, Tesla's director of product design, recently hinted that Tesla will create its own brand of game controller (gamepad), which can be used in its vehicles with arcade (Tesla Game Center).
Verdura has handed over a large design list in tesla's 10 years of work, including charging piles and Tesla's unique product packaging, and recently, Verdura also said that Tesla is developing a Cybertruck die-cast model, which may indicate that Tesla will add a vehicle that can buy a toy version of the car in the Tesla lineup, however, this is not the only thing Tesla entrusts Verdura to do in the coming months, the Tesla product design director cleverly hinted Tesla may design its own game controller in the near future.
If Tesla developed its own game controllers for its cars and others, it would have many advantages, especially since Tesla never officially licensed or recommended any specific game controllers to its car buyers, but it wasn't surprising that Tesla launched its own game controllers in cases where Tesla Arcade included several games that required game controllers.
Last July, at Tesla's Plaid delivery event, Tesla did have a Tesla-branded controller for video game demos. While Tesla has never officially announced the news, we know that at least Tesla has been considering the possibility of having its own controller.
And Tesla doesn't make it difficult for car owners to find a game controller that's compatible with their vehicle, tesla in-game plays are compatible with almost all game controllers with USB ports, and some Bluetooth devices on the market can also share wireless options with Tesla cars. However, Tesla still has some shortcomings in terms of gaming accessories, especially when the company transitions to USB-C ports in Model 3 and Model Y, if the owner still uses a controller with standard USB, they need to buy another conversion accessory 3.0 connector. In addition, some car owners say that wireless controllers are now only available in Model S and Model X.
If Tesla introduces its own controller, it can make it easier for car owners to buy, tesla game centers are definitely a way to pass the time during supercharging, and it has only kept kids busy during long drives. In addition, in the updated and revamped Model S and Model X, a rear screen with game functions has been placed on the rear of the car, and the game controller can be used for rear passengers while the car is running. However, companies that own game controllers must submit them to the Federal Communications Commission or the FCC, and Tesla has not yet submitted any documents related to game controllers to the FCC, so there is no indication that Tesla will release the product anytime soon.
