The Telegraph: Manchester United will rebuild again, and the existing list of managerial candidates has been revealed

According to the latest report by The Daily Telegraph's Manchester correspondent James Ducker, there is a section of the column after Woodward's official announcement of "class" called United confident that Arnold will learn from Woodward's mistakes

JD revealed that United are confident in the new chief executive Richard Arnold, who believes he will learn valuable lessons from Woodward's past failures and will be looking at a fifth long-term coach in 9 years and another rebuilding journey.

United have never been close to a Premier League title under Woodward, admitting his turbulent and controversial leadership was a failure, regretting the manager's choice and wrong signings and struggling to cope with the void left by Sir Alex Ferguson after his retirement in 2013.

Last November, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer became the fourth manager in eight years to be fired by Woodward. The club recognise they have to turn things around, while current interim manager Ronnick is facing a battle for a top four in the Premier League and quelling the unrest in the dressing room.

Sources close to Woodward say he has been "trapped" by the idea that he makes football decisions and regrets not appointing a football director earlier. But understandably, Arnold would give Mottaf and Fletcher more autonomy, and their first priority would naturally be to find a new manager.

Senior sources at Old Trafford have revealed that there will be no more such thing as a temporary takeover by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and that they will be absolutely committed to finding a new official manager.

Lonnick himself is not a popular option, but the 63-year-old German is expected to be involved in the coaching process in the coming months and start working as a consultant for the club from the summer.

The Daily Telegraph understands that United do not have a top target at this stage and before narrowing them down, they plan to assess in detail the strengths and weaknesses of some of the candidates.

Manchester United are very fond of Nagelsmann but he is expected to stay at Bayern; Pochettino, Paris Saint-Germain and former Tottenham hotspur manager, who are interested in the position at Old Trafford and are very popular with The Manchester United hierarchy, are considered very suitable candidates; Ajax manager Tenhag and Leicester city coach Rodgers are also under consideration, and the final name is Italian manager Mancini, who is also considered interested in the Manchester United position.

United have expressed interest in England boss Southgate in the past, but he is determined to complete his mission in England. It remains to be seen whether there will be an unexpected candidate like Brighton's Graham Porter.
