According to reports, the Seoul Eastern District Court in South Korea will hear the case on the 12th. But even if the court agrees to preserve, whether Shen Xixi can compete in the Beijing Winter Olympics will be decided by the league's competitive ability improvement committee.

The report pointed out that considering that Shen Xixi failed to train for the national team during the suspension period, if the committee judged that Shen Xixi's current competitive ability was not up to the level of participating in the Olympic Games, she would not be able to participate.

In addition, the time consuming time of the court's adjudication process has also been reported to be variable. The International Skating Union (ISU) requires countries to submit their final names of Olympic participants by Jan. 24. The Korean Sports Association plans to obtain the list from the league on the 23rd and submit it to the International Skating Federation on the 24th.

Therefore, on the 23rd, If Shen Xixi has not yet restored his national team qualifications, he will not be able to participate in the Beijing Winter Olympics. Generally, the court's adjudication process takes a week or two.

According to reports, in May 2021, Shen Xixi ranked first in the women's group of the 2021-2022 short track speed skating national team selection competition and qualified for the Beijing Winter Olympics. However, in October of the same year, Shen Xixi was exposed to having insulted and belittled other coaches and teammates during the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, thus being suspended for two months as a national team player.

Previously reported, Shen Xixi was born in 1997, she represented South Korea in the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics and the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, won the 1000m third place, 1500m runner-up, 3000m relay champion in Sochi, and won the short track speed skating women's 3000m relay championship at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.
