Foton Motor's Changsha super truck factory will attract investment in the supply chain, and 50% of the parts will be produced locally in the future
Hunan Daily, New Hunan Client, January 6 (Reporter Xiong Yuanfan Correspondent Xiang Dani) Today, Foton Automobile Changsha Super Truck Factory Supply Chain Investment Conference was held in Changsha, with a total of more than 50 well-known domestic auto parts manufacturers attending.
Since Foton Motor entered Hunan in 1999, it has been deeply cultivated and developed, and the Changsha base has achieved a cumulative production and sales of more than 1 million vehicles. Foton Motor's Changsha super truck plant has been put into operation on July 8, 2021, and will achieve sales of more than 100,000 vehicles, an output value of 15 billion yuan, an output value of 4 billion to 5 billion yuan in the local parts industry chain, and an indirect employment of 10,000 people in the industrial chain.
At the scene of the event, Wu Haishan, deputy secretary of the party committee of Foton Motor Group, introduced that Foton Motor Changsha Super Truck Factory on the one hand guides existing suppliers to invest in and build factories in the territory to further deepen the cooperative relationship, on the other hand, to excavate excellent suppliers in the territory, incorporate into the Foton automobile system, and develop and supply. For suppliers that follow the localization of Foton Motor, Foton Motor will provide support and assistance in terms of supply share and business policies. At present, there have been a number of suppliers have responded, the first stage has completed the Changsha base layout of 7 suppliers such as Rizhao Xingye, Zhucheng Yihe, Qingte, etc., has completed the introduction of Hunan Xiaoguang Mold, Xiangtan Ditong, Hunan Xiangjiang Guanxi and other territorial suppliers, and the next step there is a second batch and the third batch of a total of 33 module localization arrangements.
At the meeting, Tang Hongchao, executive vice president of the Oumark Business Department of Foton Motor Group, said that Foton Motor will build a high-end business platform with Ouhang and Oumark as the core around the elements of commercial vehicle upgrading. In the future, the Changsha super truck factory will be used as the core base in the south to drive the extension of the upstream and downstream industrial chain, based on high-end equipment manufacturing, to achieve coordinated development of multiple industries, to create a diversified industrial alliance, to form a location advantage, and to attract parts manufacturers to carry out localized production upstream, which will ensure that 50% of the parts of Euroair's Omarco business are localized.
At the meeting, Taian Dingxin Cooler Co., Ltd., Hebei Yili Technology Co., Ltd., Shandong Aitek Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd., Shandong Haiyun Electric Co., Ltd., Zhucheng Dayun Automobile Technology Co., Ltd., and Foton Automobile Changsha Chaoka Factory, which have recently reached a territorial plant construction intention with Foton Motor, signed an agreement to build a factory in Changchang.
