Mannight: United have no intention of signing River Plate striker Alvarez this month

According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United have no intention of signing River Plate striker Alvarez in this winter window. The 21-year-old is a shining star in South American football, scoring 18 goals and seven assists last season in just 21 league appearances for River Plate.

After Alvarez's dazzling results, it is clear that Europe's giants will not ignore the performance of the Argentine striker. Just this week, there were media reports that Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barca, Bayern, Inter and Milan were interested in getting the Argentine international.

It is reported that Alvarez's contract contains a 17 million pound termination clause, which is not a big obstacle for the major European giants. For Alvarez, with this year's World Cup event, he will want to join a club that can continue to shine and thus get the chance to play in the World Cup.

Alvarez has played five games for the Argentine national team to date, and he was part of the Pampas Eagles' win of last year's Copa America.
