CES 2022: Razer releases Zephyr Pro masks that will provide amplifier functionality

With the covid-19 pandemic going on for a long time, wearing masks in everyday life has become the norm. At last year's CES 2021 show, Razer unveiled a concept mask called Project Hazel, which eventually became a mass-produced retail product, which was officially released in October last year. Unfortunately, the final retail product lacked the amplifier function.

At this year's CES 2022 show, Razer further improved the original Zephyr mask, adding a loudspeaker function, and two speaker grilles are located on both sides of the bottom to amplify the voice of users wearing masks. According to TomsHardware, the new product is called Zephyr Pro. The current Starting Price for Zephyr is $99.99, while the Zephyr Pro will start at $149.99.

Razer said that the new product weighs only a little more than the old model, and other aspects have not been changed too much, still using the previous design. Like the Zephyr before it, the Zephyr Pro is an "N95 medical-grade" respirator that blocks up to 99 percent of particles under 0.3 microns. The masks are made of a waterproof, scratch-resistant shell made of recycled plastic, using removable and rechargeable active ventilators and a high bacterial filtration efficiency (BFE) smart cabin that regulates airflow for optimal breathability.

Zephyr Pro has active air cooling and adjustment function, the embedded fan can switch gears when turned on, the mask will release the exhaled carbon dioxide, prevent it from accumulating inside the mask, while allowing cold air to enter, the wireless fast charging box can be disinfected with disinfection ultraviolet rays to disinfect the mask. Its transparent design allows others to see the user's facial expressions and even read lips.

If the user is in the dark, the internal lighting of the mask is automatically activated and can be used with razer Chroma RGB lighting effects. However, it will not connect to the PC's Razer Synapse, but will connect the phone's app. To power the fans and lights, the Razer Zephyr has a battery that can be charged via the USB Type-C interface.
