Razer is one of the gaming device brands founded in 1998 by CEO Minliang Chen and Robert "Razerguy" Krakoff in San Diego, California. In the mid-1990s, with the rise of online games and competitive first-person shooter (FPS) games, gamers found that traditional peripherals were under-performing in games.

Razer seized this opportunity to consolidate its strengths in technology, design and ergonomics, and eventually became synonymous with professional competitive equipment. Today, Razer has won the "Best of CES" award for six consecutive years. Razer's design and technology includes a range of user interfaces and system devices, player VOICE OVER IP communications, and cloud-based gaming device customization and optimization platforms. On November 13, 2017, Razer announced its successful listing on the Main Board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (SEHK).

Recently, Razer and the offeror OUROBOROS (I) INC. jointly announced that on April 26, 2022, the resolution approving the proposal to privatize by way of an arrangement (the Scheme) had been approved by the Shareholders of the Scheme at a court meeting; and to approve and implement a special resolution to reduce the issued share capital of the Company by cancelling the Planned Shares on the Effective Date. "Once the proposal becomes unconditional and the scheme comes into effect, it is expected that the listing status of the Shares on the Exchange will be withdrawn from 9 a.m. on Friday, 13 May 2022."

Razer issued an announcement in December last year that it had failed to achieve its original public offering target due to the low liquidity of listed shares and the continuous pressure on the stock price, hoping to lift the restrictions on listing rules to develop high-risk businesses, and would be privatized at HK$2.82 per share and pay no more than HK$10.788 billion in cash, delisted from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

It is reported that Razer has been delisted from the Hong Kong United Securities Exchange to achieve privatization, with the ultimate goal of re-listing in the United States.
