A number of foreign media reported that Roma and Arsenal have reached a consensus on the transfer of right-back Niles. The two clubs are exchanging documents and Niles will join Roma on loan. The players have already undergone a medical examination in London before flying to Italy over the weekend for testing.
Niles doesn't appear to be the only reinforcement in the Roma winter window, as Roma are in talks with Porto over the signing of midfielder Sergio Oliveira.
Roma's midfield signings initially targeted players such as Zakaria and Kamala, but the competition was fierce. Roma have turned to Porto midfielder Sergio Oliveira.

Sergio Oliveira is a 29-year-old Portuguese player who plays as a midfielder. So far this season, he has made 24 appearances in all competitions for Porto, scoring five goals, including two in the Portuguese Premier League.
The player was linked to a move to Roma in the summer of 2021, with Oliveira keen to play for Jose Mourinho.
Oliveira's contract at Porto expires in the summer of 2025, and the Porto president had promised the player that the player could leave if he could receive a suitable offer in the winter window.
The deal offered by Roma is to first loan players and then buy them. Whether Porto will accept the offer remains to be seen.
This season, the Portuguese Premier League title competition is fierce, although Porto ranks at the top of the league table, but with the same sports points as Portugal, it is really difficult to say whether Porto will release people.
