China: We hope that the Pacific Ocean will become a peaceful place, not a sea of artificial waves

Beijing, 5 Jan (China News Network) -- Regarding the signing of an agreement between Australia and Japan to further strengthen national defense and security cooperation between the two countries, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said at a regular news conference on 5 January that exchanges and cooperation between countries should help maintain regional peace and stability, and we hope that the Pacific Ocean will become a peaceful place, not a sea of artificial stirring up trouble.

A reporter asked that Australia and Japan will sign a "historic" agreement at the leaders' summit on Thursday to further strengthen defense and security cooperation between the two countries.
