The domestic NFT boom has ushered in heavy players.

On January 5, the official certification number of Station B "Bilibili Digital Collection" released a dynamic, announcing that its first digital art avatar - "Pigeon" was officially opened for registration, with a limited number of 2333 on the whole network.

This news means that Station B will join the wave of domestic technology giants issuing digital collections, and the first NFT belonging to young people may come.

Young people's first digital collection coming? The first NFT of Station B was officially launched

The first digital collection avatar of Station B

It is reported that the series of avatars is not sold, users need to register, the condition is that the B station user level reaches 6, and 2021 throughout the daily use of Bilibili users, and need to ensure that they are at least 14 years old, and need to complete real-name authentication.

Avatars numbered 101-2100 will be distributed randomly, for a total of 2,000, and the remaining 233 numbered Bilibili will be reserved officially, including a scarce limited edition. It is made in a way that image design is combined with computer programming.

The harsh access conditions mean that the collection belongs only to the core users of Station B, and most of them are young people. Chen Rui, chairman and CEO of Station B, once said that the average age of users in Station B is about 21 years old, and the average age of new users is about 20 years old.

It is worth noting that the B station of this issue follows the domestic practice, the definition of the series of digital collections is "digital art avatar", and the word "NFT" does not appear in the product introduction, which means that it does not have any monetary attributes such as payment functions.

So what is the use of these digital collections?

Station B clarifies in the introduction that the series has collection value and can be used for research and viewing, which is also the general function of the current domestic digital collection. And since it is an avatar, users can use it to change their social media avatar.

However, there are two new functions in the digital collection of Station B, one is "derivative production" and the other is "online secondary creation", which is very characteristic of Station B.

In the introduction of Station B, it is marked that "during the period when you hold this digital art avatar, you have the right to make, sell and promote the physical peripheral based on this collection". This means that the owner of the digital collection will not only have the ownership of the "Pigeon De" avatar, but also have a certain commercial development rights.

This is particularly important because it is different from the current mainstream domestic cultural and creative IP + blockchain technology combined gameplay. Taking the user agreement of the JD digital collection distribution platform "Lingxian" as an example, it is emphasized that the intellectual property rights of the digital collections issued are owned by the issuer or the original collection rights holder, and the person who purchases the digital collection cannot be used for commercial purposes without permission.

Since the design and image of "Pigeon De" was created by Station B, some commercial rights were opened up, which also added to the playability of the digital collection. However, it also clarifies the relevant requirements, the holder may not apply for a trademark and authorize other parties to register copyrights.

As for whether it can be traded, Station B said that the transfer function will be announced in the near future, and does not encourage any form of digital art avatar hype.

In terms of the most important blockchain technology support, Station B uses its "high-energy chain" that is being tested internally.

Previously, Interface News had reported on the "high-energy chain" of Station B.

It is pointed out that Station B is one of the most suitable technology giants in the domestic ecosystem to try blockchain technology, with a perfect "NFT application scenario".

Among the core elements needed by the NFT, station B itself has a large number of creators and users who love cultural creation, and has a large number of IP images unique to the two-dimensional culture, which is reflected in this "pigeon virtue". The B station community itself is the most active two-dimensional community in China. Among the three core elements of NFT, Station B only lacks blockchain technology support, and the high-energy chain complements this technology gap.

NFTs are the hottest new thing in the world today, it is derived from blockchain technology, and from 2020, a large number of crypto artists will use this technology to create art. On March 11, 2021, one of the artists, Beeple, was auctioned at Christie's with his NFT paintings, which shocked the world with a sky-high sales of $69.34 million.

As a result, the NFT has gradually acquired "fashion" elements in its development, which has been tried by fashion giant Louis Vuitton and entertainment giant Disney, and has also attracted the favor of NBA superstar Steve Curry and former first lady of the United States Melania Trump.

After entering China, giants including Ant, Tencent, and JD.com have launched NFT distribution platforms, weakened their financial attributes, and renamed them "digital collections", emphasizing the prohibition of speculation. And due to the strict intellectual property boundaries, the copyright issues of domestic digital collections are clearer and clearer than those of foreign NFTs.

As a new thing, the biggest difference between NFTs is that it uses technology to determine ownership of the digital world, and it is also regarded as the infrastructure for the future metaverse.

With the continuous entry of big players such as Station B, we will be able to glimpse the vast application scenarios of blockchain technology, and the digital collection is an unexpected surprise.
