ATP Cup: Spain reached the final four

On January 5, Beijing time, the fifth day of the 2022 ATP Cup ended the night match, Spain beat Serbia 2-1, with three consecutive wins in the group stage to advance to the final four; Greece defeated Georgia 2-1 to win the first victory in the group stage.

In the Group A match between Spain and Serbia, Busta defeated Krajinovic 6-3, 6-4, and Agut beat Rajovic 6-1, 6-4 to seal the victory for Spain. In the final, unrelated doubles match, Chačić/Sabanov defeated Martinez/Ramos 6-7 (5)/6-3/10-5. In the end, Spain defeated Serbia 2-1 to advance to the final four.

In Greece's Group D clash with Georgia, Pevolakis took mittweli 6-3, 6-2 and Tsitsipas received a retirement salute from Basrashvili when he led 4-1, helping Greece seal the victory. In the final doubles match, Baksi/Mittwelly narrowly defeated Tsitsipas/Pevolakis 4-6, 6-3, 16-14. As a result, Greece defeated Georgia 2-1 and won the first group stage.
