ATP Cup: Poland advances to the final four, with Chile beating Norway 2-1

On January 5, Beijing time, the ATP Cup ended the fifth matchday of the day schedule, the Polish team in Group D defeated Argentina 3-0 to advance to the semi-finals, and Chile in Group A beat Norway 2-1.

In the battle between Poland and Argentina, Mekhzak beat Delbonis 6-3, 7-6 (3) to score the first point for Poland. Hulkac, who then played, spent 1 hour and 21 minutes beating Argentine star Schwarzmann 6-1, 6-4 to seal the victory for Poland. In an irrelevant doubles match, the Polish duo of Volkar/Zeleski beat Gonzalez/Montale 7-6 (4)/7-6 (5) to beat Argentina 3-0.

In Chile's match against Norway, world number 139 Tabilo beat Durasovic 6-1, 6-7 (5)/6-1 to score a point for Chile. World no. 8 Rudder then beat Garin 6-4, 6-1 to tie the score at 1-1. In the final doubles tiebreaker, Tabilo played again, with partner Barrios Bella beating Rivera/Petrović 6-0, 6-4 to seal the win for Chile.

Poland's opponents in the semi-finals will be First Place in Group A, which will be produced between Spain and Serbia. After Chile beat Norway, it also meant that Serbia had to beat Spain 3-0 to qualify, or Spain would break through from Group A to advance to the semi-finals.
