On 5 January, Prime Minister Hun Sen issued an order that anyone who had been diagnosed with Omicron infection should be treated in a hospital and not allowed to be treated at home.
Hun Sen also stressed that whether the patients with confirmed Omicron are rich or poor, big officials or petty officials, they must be treated in hospitals. Otherwise, if the Omicron mutation virus spreads to the community, it will face being blocked, will the people be willing? Of course not. Therefore, all parts of the country, including Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, Phnom Penh City, patients must be treated in hospitals.

Prime Minister Hun Sen stressed: Previously, the Ministry of Health had asked me for instructions several times, saying that it was a certain person's child or wife who was infected with an Omicron case and applied for home treatment. I hereby publicly issue a strict order not to ask me for instructions from now on, whether it is anyone's child or wife, as long as it is an Omicron confirmed case, the patient cannot be treated at home.
