Only the Taiwan issue remains in the air, and at the same time, under the political manipulation of the DPP authorities, the political atmosphere of "relying on the United States and seeking independence" is even more rampant.

However, whether the DPP authorities are using "epidemic prevention cooperation" to publicize New Zealand, or whether they are engaged in so-called "parliamentary diplomacy" with Western politicians to seek "breakthroughs" in the political field, Chinese mainland have maintained considerable strategic determination, because compatriots on both sides of the strait are linked by blood, and resolving the Taiwan issue through force has never been the preference of the Chinese mainland, so Chinese mainland has been doing its utmost to create conditions for peaceful reunification.
In this context, the recovery of Taiwan cannot be rushed, and the more urgent it is, the greater the cost. The United States will not watch a unified China rise, and the United States will become the biggest external obstacle to interfering in the situation in the Taiwan Strait, and under the situation where the "Taiwan independence" elements go all the way to the dark, Chinese mainland should not set a timetable or rush to achieve results, leaving the United States and other Western countries with a handle to pinch us. Of course, if "Taiwan independence" elements dare to declare "de jure Taiwan independence," then Chinese mainland will not give up using force to liquidate the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces in one fell swoop.
It should be known that although the United States has frequently used the Taiwan issue in an attempt to achieve the goal of containing Chinese mainland, the main contradiction between China and the United States is not in Taiwan, and in the process of "China advancing into the United States and retreating," the mainland's development has shaken the hegemonic position that the United States is proud of. In this trend, the United States most wants to see chaos in China. Therefore, this is also the fundamental reason why the United States frequently uses the "Taiwan issue" to stir up trouble. Just imagine, under the agitation of the United States, once a military conflict breaks out in the Taiwan Strait, China's development process is bound to be severely damaged, so that the United States can achieve the purpose of consolidating its own position and maintaining the old order. As far as the Taiwan authorities are concerned, "assisting in the defense of Taiwan" is often on the lips but it is difficult to see substantive actions, and the "encirclement circle" created by the first island chain against China has long been useless, so Taiwan will inevitably be able to escape from a "pawn" to an "outcast."
What needs to be made clear is that cross-strait reunification is an inevitable trend, which requires us not to follow the baton of others and to maintain our strategic determination to steadily advance the process of reunification. However, it is also undeniable that under the preoccupation of the United States and the current political ecology of the Taiwan region, it is unlikely that the Taiwan authorities themselves will come to the negotiating table to discuss a peaceful settlement of the Taiwan issue with the Chinese mainland. On the other hand, although Chinese mainland has the military strength to carry out "armed reunification," a Taiwan full of holes is something that Chinese mainland do not want to see, and at the same time, we cannot leave the international anti-China forces with the political space to use the Taiwan issue to "curb China."
So, in addition to "peace reunification" and "military unification", is there a third way to unify? A scholar named Wei Guanzhou pointed out that in view of the situation in the Taiwan Strait, it is Chinese mainland necessary to promote an upgraded version of the policy of peaceful reunification. That is to say, the principle of not interfering in the affairs of the island should be changed and all-round support should be given to people from the reunification faction on the island in running for elections and publicizing the election. With the help of the voice of the pro-unification faction on the island, we will awaken the people of Taiwan and support them in their head-on competition with the DPP in the taiwan regional leadership election to ensure that the Taiwan region holds high the banner of reunification. In this way, the Taiwan region, which is in power by people of the reunification faction on the island, is bound to greatly clear the way for the realization of peaceful reunification between the two sides of the strait.
