In the summer of 1945, as Japanese imperialism had become weaker and thinner, the Japanese puppet armies on the battlefield behind the enemy lines also lost the will to continue fighting, and retreated to large and medium-sized cities and the periphery of the communication lines. However, at this time, the Kuomintang diehard Liang Zhongtingbu, who was entrenched in Tancheng, Shandong Province, not only did not launch a counteroffensive against the enemy, but instead intensified its efforts to continue to be enemies of our army, repeatedly sending troops to seize the strongholds abandoned by the Japanese puppet army, wantonly expanding the territory and army, and plotting to launch further encroachment on the base areas.
In order to improve the communication links between our coastal areas and the Lunan base area and to prepare for launching the final counteroffensive of the War of Resistance, our Coastal and Lunan Military Regions have concentrated the strength of the main force and local troops totaling 8,000 troops, and are ready to launch a large-scale offensive campaign against this stubborn Kuomintang army.
Liang Zhongting was the kuomintang commissioner of the Lunan region of Shandong Province and the commander of the 9th Brigade of the 17th Column of the Shandong Advancing Army, and his men claimed to have tens of thousands of troops, and they had long been entrenched in the Lunan area, expropriating and violently expropriating the local people, colluding with the Japanese and the hypocrites, secretly sabotaging the War of Resistance, and successively killing more than 2,000 japanese soldiers and civilians in our country.

Liangbu's lair is Wang Haizi at the junction of Sulu and Sulu provinces. It is close to the Longhai Line, the terrain is flat, and it is the home of fish and rice. Liang Zhongting built strong fortifications here in an attempt to achieve his "hegemony". In order to assist him in opposing communism, the Kuomintang government specially set up a so-called officer training team for him, helped Liang train more than 300 platoons of officers, and also helped him form 2 reinforcement regiments, which were stationed in 2 places on the outskirts of the stronghold, and deployed in a corner.
On June 23, 1945, the various units of our army began to secretly march towards the old lair of Liangbu, and with the tactic of long-distance attack, they unexpectedly launched an attack on the 2 enemy troops outside Wang Haizi's outskirts. Although Liang Zhongting ordered the unit to hold its position firmly, from 22:00 p.m. that night when the battle broke out, these guys just fired a bunch of guns to deal with it, and then they abandoned their strongholds and fled, and our army took the opportunity to pursue them, killing more than 50 enemy people in the night, capturing more than 100 enemy, and the remaining 2,000 people fled in the night.
Another enemy army saw the accomplices fleeing, and did not want to stay behind to send Liang Zhongting to death; on the one hand, they cursed the bandit army that had already fled, and on the other hand, they also learned to shoot indiscriminately by the accomplices, bluffed, pretended to be fighting fiercely with our army, and gave up their positions and fled without waiting for our army to attack them.
Our army then surrounded Wang Haizi and mobilized materials for the offensive battle, while launching a political offensive against Liang. Liang Bu ignored our army's persuasion to surrender and refused to surrender. On the night of the 4th day, our army took advantage of the heavy rain to launch a general attack on Wang Haizi. Our artillery first opened fire and blew a hole in the outer wall of the enemy stronghold, and then the commandos rushed toward the gap with water. When 37 fighters of my commando team broke into the stronghold, the enemy had a premonition that the end was coming and desperately organized a counterattack. Only then did the more than 300 enemy officers trained by the Central Army play a little role, and they formed a death squad shouting and scolding to fight back at our commando, and both sides suffered heavy casualties in the fierce battle, and finally all 37 of our army were killed.
But the enemy's officer death squads also suffered heavy casualties, and before they could breathe, our troops attacked again, and the offensive was even fiercer than before. Liang Zhongting saw that the army had collapsed, so he abandoned his subordinates, disguised himself as a commoner, and only took a few guards to try to escape from the village, but he was found out on the spot and captured.
In this battle, our army killed, wounded, or wounded more than 500 enemy prisoners, captured 6 light and heavy machine guns, more than 400 rifles, and a large number of other military materials, and opened up the two major base areas of Binhai and Lunan, thus creating favorable conditions for the great counteroffensive.
