On the afternoon of January 1, 2022 local time in Toronto, Han Tao, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Toronto, was invited to attend the Toronto Youth Ice Hockey Friendly Tournament held at the Ice Hockey Arena of the Canran Stadium. The Beijing Winter Olympics is a shared Winter Olympics that will bring 300 million people to ice and snow sports in China. The Beijing Winter Olympics is a grand event for winter Olympic athletes and ice and snow sports enthusiasts all over the world. China, together with the International Olympic Committee and athletes from all over the world, will make every effort to display the Olympic spirit of "faster, higher, stronger and more united", dedicate a simple, safe and wonderful Olympic event to the world, and make new contributions to the international Olympic cause.
Consul General Han Tao said that Canada is a world ice and snow sports power, has hosted two Winter Olympics, China and Canada sports circles have maintained good exchanges, especially in ice hockey, curling and other sports, hope that the Beijing Winter Olympics will further promote Sino-Canadian sports exchanges, hope that today's young players will one day visit China, with China's young players to exchange skills, enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the Chinese and Canadian people. Han Jinwen, chairman of the Canada-China Sports and Culture Exchange Center, and coaches of the two teams also delivered speeches at the ceremony, wishing the Beijing Winter Olympics a complete success.
