On the afternoon of December 31, 2021, the Guangzhou Nansha Port Railway was officially opened to traffic.
The Nansha Port Railway is a national Class I, double-track electrified railway with a speed of 120 kilometers per hour and a total length of 88 kilometers on the main line. It passes through Jiangmen, Foshan, Zhongshan and Guangzhou, and finally reaches Nansha Port District, with a total of 8 stations on the line.
The completion and opening of the Nansha Port Railway in Guangzhou will open up the "last kilometer" of sea-rail public transport, directly serve the collection and transportation of Nansha Port Area and the port industry, and is of great significance for the construction of a land-sea intermodal transport corridor with Nansha Port as the core, the construction of a strategic fulcrum of the Maritime Silk Road Economic Belt, the construction of the Nansha Free Trade Area, the enhancement of the function of Guangzhou's shipping hub, and the promotion of the coordinated development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Longxue South Waterway Special Bridge is located in Nansha District, Guangzhou, Longxue South Waterway, is a double-tower mixed girder railway cable-stayed bridge, with a total length of 830 meters across the Pearl River Dragon's Den South Waterway, the tower height of 155 meters, about 50 floors high, the main span of 448 meters, the whole bridge with nearly 11,000 tons of steel.
The bridge has left a strong mark on the world's bridge engineering, the double-line freight railway cable-stayed bridge using parallel steel strand cable-stayed cable, the use of bolt welding combined with rectangular cross-section bilateral box steel beam are the world's first, PPS materials for extra-large bridges for the first time in the country.
It is not only the first passenger and freight dual-use railway bridge for sea-rail intermodal transportation in China, but also the highest railway cable-stayed bridge in Guangzhou.
Hongqi Lidao Special Bridge

Hongqi Lishuidao Special Bridge is located at the junction of Nansha Free Trade Area in Guangzhou and Hengli Town in Zhongshan City. The bridge is 998 meters long, a steel truss beam flexible arch structure railway bridge, the main bridge span is up to 360 meters, composed of 1767 steel truss levers, 168 connecting booms, 650,000 sets of splicing bolts, a total weight of about 28,000 tons of steel together to create "Asia's first span" of steel body.
The main pier of the bridge adopts 10 drilled pile foundations with a diameter of 3 meters, and the drilling depth under the platform can reach 80 meters, so that the substructure of the bridge is deeply "rooted" under the riverbed, firmly stabilizing the "strong chassis" and standing in the water.
Xijiang extra-large cable-stayed bridge

Xijiang Mega Cable-stayed Bridge is located at the junction of Foshan City and Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province, with a total length of 1117.5 meters, using an H-shaped bridge tower, the main span span is 600 meters, and it is a double-tower double-cable surface steel box mixed girder cable-stayed bridge. Among them, the main towers of No. 156 on the west bank and No. 157 on the east bank are 208 meters and 200 meters high, respectively. The whole bridge has a total of 192 cable-stayed cables, each of which is composed of a pair, a total of 96 pairs, in a fan-shaped arrangement, which is the largest cable-stayed bridge of the same type of structure in the history of the construction of double-line freight railways in the world. The bridge is known as the "world's first span" of the freight railway mixed girder cable-stayed bridge.
Chicken Crow Waterway Bridge

In the north of Zhongshan City, Dongfeng Town and Nantou Town are separated by a chicken crow waterway, and the chicken crow waterway bridge is a river crossing channel opened on the basis of the Guangzhou-Zhuhai intercity railway, which will provide great convenience for personnel exchanges between the two towns after opening to traffic.
Jiyao Waterway Bridge is the only road-railway dual-purpose bridge in the whole process of Nansha port railway, which crosses the river side by side with the Guangzhongjiang Expressway; the upper level is a two-way 8-lane expressway, and the lower level is a double-track railway.
The main span of the public railway dual-purpose bridge is 175 meters and the side span is 100 meters, and the main bridge structure is a double-line railway double-layer 6-lane parallel-string continuous steel truss beam, which is the largest span of the same type of public railway dual-purpose parallel string continuous steel truss girder in China.
