Bar January 1, Barca President Laporta delivered a New Year's message, in which he wished all Catalans good health, better work at all levels and hoped that the club would recover financially and return to the top level again.

Laporta: "Hello everyone, on days like these, we usually put together what we've done in the year, and we'll say goodbye to this year and set a good goal for next year. But, most importantly, in these times, I want to wish you and your loved ones good health, protect yourself and get vaccinated to defeat the pandemic. 2021 is a year of ups and downs. At Barca, we decided to start a new phase, to create a new stage, to regain and continue the glory of the club. ”

"We want to start a new phase and are doing so by building a team of exciting youngsters from La Masia and elsewhere. Some professional parts such as basketball, handball, hockey and futsal continue to be successful, and women's soccer continues to win championships. ”

"2022 will also be the beginning of camp nou, the most important construction project in the club's history, and we must be proud of it and we must be involved in the future construction of Barca. 2022 will be a dynamic and very stressful year, I have the privilege of being Chairman of the Board of Directors and our executives, players and staff will continue to work hard to revive the club's economy and make Barça once again a benchmark in the world of sport. Our Foundation will also continue to help those who need it. We will re-articulate ourselves and have a responsibility to do it all for Barca fans to be happy again. Good luck in 2022. ”
