The 36-year-old Juventus defender Bonucci confirmed in an official interview with Juventus that he will retire at the end of next season (June 2024).

Bonucci said: "Next year I will retire and I think an era is coming to an end. For me, it's a pleasure to play here and hopefully one day a lot of young people will see my generation as an idol for defensive players in history. ”
"For 12 years, I was always like a happy child inside. Now I'm waiting for my 501 appearances and my goal is to keep playing until next June. ”
So far this season, Bonucci has made 24 appearances for the team, scoring two goals. Bonucci first played for Juve from 2010 to 2017 and returned to Juve a year after leaving Milan and has since contributed 37 goals and 10 assists to Juv.
He reached the milestone of his 500th Juve career in the Europa League semi-finals, but unfortunately he was replaced early in the second half due to a muscle strain. Italian media said he would be out for about 15 days.
