Bashogou (Bagou Town), qianwei County, Leshan City, Sichuan Province, was the site of the Jiayang Coal Mine from the 1930s to the 1980s, with a patchwork of Chinese, English and Su-style houses built on the mountain, forming an ancient town with different styles and echoes. Here was once bustling and bustling, and there was a folk song circulating at that time: "Speaking of Basho Ditch, the heart is cool and leisurely, follow the workers, and there are paper cigarettes, and in three or five years, there will be babies and children." Enough to confirm its glory in history. Now, walking here again, the former appearance has not changed a few points, but the people who stay behind are white and frosted. The past is a leisurely talk of the year. At that time, the children here could buy a candy man for 3 or 5 cents, which was sweet and beautiful. People up and down the slope should also pull a few handfuls of "Two Qishi Picks" to take a nap time, cover the end of the bowl of tea, and the "Dragon Gate Array" can be placed for a day. Every Spring Festival, there are more contents, guessing lantern riddles, playing lions, singing dramas, and turning meteors. Play basketball, set off fireworks, and watch the tug-of-war of workers from porter backgrounds. There are not only schools, shops, hospitals, street markets, but also canteens and movie theaters, and it is said that the word "cinema" is spelled out from the posters, but now I feel very kind when I look at that word. Familiar quotations from Chairman Mao can still be seen on the outer walls of the former office building, and moss-covered circular holes can be seen on uneven paths. Towering trees are lined up one after another, and the ditch forks and streams flow over the rocks.
The Jiayang Small Train, which crosses the mountains, is the only means of transportation in and out of Bashogou for decades, and it is also the only passenger narrow-gauge steam train in the world that is still in operation, known as the living fossil of the Industrial Revolution. It goes around a series of valleys and stops in places where the terrain is slightly gentler and there are more people living there. The name of the station is very special, such as: Jiaoba, Fairy Foot, Bee Rock, Yuejin Station, each station name has its legend, and the name of Basho Ditch is probably named because there are many banana trees growing here. The little train is like a childhood basket, like a stroller when learning to walk, and the rumbling sound seems to tell the time changes here.
The present year says the future. Now it is a tourist punch card in Leshan, Sichuan, and has been rated as one of the first batch of "forest towns" in the country. Nowadays, the means of transportation in and out of Bashogou are not only small trains, it takes less than an hour to drive along the highway to the county seat, if you can pass through the Ba (ditch) Horse (Temple) Canyon, you can see the "dinosaur" era plant - wild "alder", as if you can hear the cry of "dinosaur".
