On December 31, 2021, President Xi Jinping stressed in his 2022 New Year message that we must not forget our original intentions. Only by working hard and unswervingly can we live up to history, the times, and the people.

The days and times are getting worse, and the rivers are rushing for another year. The past year has been a landmark year in both the history of the Communist Party of China and the history of the Chinese nation. From celebrating the centenary of the founding of the Party to the deliberation and adoption of new resolutions by the Sixth Plenary Session of the Party; from building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way, to taking new steps in building a new development pattern, high-quality development has achieved new results, the national strategic scientific and technological strength has accelerated and grown, the people's livelihood guarantee is strong and effective, and the construction of ecological civilization has continued to advance... Every major event has left a deep impression on the hearts of hundreds of millions of people.

Socialism is done, and the new era is struggled. It is precisely under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee that the people of the whole country have worked hard with one heart and one mind, rolled up their sleeves and worked hard, that they can achieve a good start in the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan." We are busy and conscientious, "giving, giving, and reaping". We have "fulfilled" ourselves with sweat and achieved a better country.

Entering the time of the New Year, we are a little more curious about the future and more calm. We know that no matter how dazzling the achievements of the past are, we cannot lie down and sleep in the book of merit; the grander the goal, the less tolerant we are to lie flat.

At present, the international situation is complex and severe, and the tasks of domestic reform, development, and stability are arduous and arduous, all of which remind us that we must work hard and unswervingly. Whether it is to promote economic development and epidemic prevention and control to continue to maintain a global leading position, to ensure that the people's livelihood security is more powerful and effective, or to accelerate the expansion of the national strategic scientific and technological strength, and to further promote the construction of ecological civilization, etc., it is necessary for the people of the whole country to think and work hard to make it.

The Countdown to the Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympic Winter Games has entered. Wholeheartedly dedicating a grand Olympic event to the world is China's solemn commitment. The fulfillment of commitments depends on sincerity, but also on action. It is not easy to hold the Olympic Event during the epidemic period, especially the cohesion of the whole country, to stimulate a stronger sense of mission and responsibility, and to ensure that this Olympic Event is more exciting in an all-round way through strong institutional arrangements.

In the new year, there are more major events to be advanced in depth. For example, the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, and the premise of rural revitalization is to consolidate the results of poverty alleviation. We have built a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way and have historically solved the problem of absolute poverty, but the top priority is to ensure that there is no large-scale return to poverty, and to earnestly safeguard and consolidate the great achievements in the battle against poverty. The depth, breadth and difficulty of comprehensively implementing the rural revitalization strategy are no less than those of poverty alleviation, which also requires us to shake our spirit and do a good job in all work with greater strength, intensity and tenacity.

"I will think of what the people are worried about, and I will do what the people want." In his New Year's message, President Xi Jinping showed the people's leaders' feelings of caring for the people, and even more showed that they did not live up to history, the times and the people's responsibilities. On the way forward, we must bear in mind the entrustment, move forward with courage and determination, not only to always have long-term considerations, to think of danger in times of peace, to maintain strategic determination and patience, but also to unite knowledge and action, take advantage of the momentum, forge ahead, and vow to make more arduous and arduous efforts to realize the lofty ideal.

Strength comes from unity, and happiness comes from struggle. The great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is by no means something that can be achieved easily by beating a gong and a drum, nor is it something that can be achieved overnight.
