The name of the sacrificial general was Li Cailian. Born in 1913 in Jiaofu Village, Tea Garden Township, Xingguo County, although the family conditions were extremely difficult, he still went to school with the permission of his father. When he was in school, he was exposed to many advanced ideas, so he joined the Chinese Communist Party at the age of 15 and was already a progressive youth at a young age. In 1933, at the age of 20, he became the secretary of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee, and he can be said to be a very young cadre.
A year later, Li Cailian was promoted to secretary of the Central Soviet Sub-Bureau, mainly responsible for leading soldiers to negotiate with the enemy in the Jiangxi region, mainly using guerrilla tactics to fight. Such a Red Army general with a bright future should have continued to fight on the battlefield and dedicate himself to the people of the country. But in May 1935, Li Cailian's guards were bribed by the enemy and li Cailian was shot to death during the breakout battle, and the 22-year-old died on the battlefield, at the hands of his former comrades-
The news quickly reached the Chairman's ears, and he was very sad about it. When preparing to inform the family, he learned of the special situation in Li Cailian's family and decided to temporarily conceal the news.
It turned out that Li Cailian's wife, Chi Yuhua, was the child daughter-in-law of the Li family, and the two had lived together since childhood, and their feelings were very deep. In 1928, the two were officially married, and although the marriage was somewhat special, the relationship between the two was sincere. However, only three days after marriage, Li Cailian went to the front-line battlefield. Giving up the small family for everyone, performing the duties of the soldiers but giving up the duties of her husband, although Chi Yuhua was in pain in his heart, he still agreed to let his husband go to the front line to contribute to the country. Chi Yuhua told Li Cailian that she was going to stay with him, and it was better to take care of him around than to wait alone in fear.
However, the reality did not allow it, the war was tight, and it was unrealistic for a weak woman to follow the troops, so after careful consideration, Li Cailian refused Chi Yuhua's request, and Li Cailian looked at her affectionately and said apologetically: "Yuhua, now the war ahead is tight, how many Red Army soldiers have abandoned their wives and children, but I, as a cadre, have brought my family." She wrote letters to Li Cailian again and again, although she could not send them, but the thick three major diaries became her eternal memorial to this love.
It wasn't until 1983 that Chi Yuhua didn't wait for Li Cailian's people, but waited for his martyrdom certificate that she didn't know that her husband was really dead.
In 2005, Chi Yuhua died of illness, and at the age of 95, she spent 70 years waiting for her husband to return.
