According to the newly released Catalogue of Varieties of Food Safety Information Traceability Management in Shanghai (2021 Edition), imported frozen and refrigerated livestock and poultry meat, aquatic products, bluefish, grass carp, silver carp, bighead carp, bream, and pike crab will officially implement food safety information traceability from January 1, 2022.
Producers and operators who implement retrospective management, including production enterprises engaged in the production and operation of traceable food and edible agricultural products, farmers' professional cooperative economic organizations, slaughterhouses (farms), wholesale business enterprises, wholesale markets, storage, transportation and distribution enterprises that concurrently engage in wholesale business, standardized vegetable markets, chain supermarkets, medium-sized or above food stores, collective meal distribution units, central kitchens, school canteens, medium-sized restaurants and chain catering enterprises, etc., shall follow the provisions of the "Shanghai Municipal Measures for the Retrospective Management of Food Safety Information". Implement the main responsibility of enterprises, establish a purchase inspection record system, fulfill the obligation of food safety information traceability, and timely upload the food information included in the catalog to the traceability platform (www.shfda.org).
Supervision and inspection
Departments such as for market supervision and agriculture shall include the retrospective management of food safety information in their annual supervision and management plans, and strengthen supervision and inspection of producers' performance of food safety information traceability obligations through methods such as periodic verification and supervision and spot checks, and include relevant circumstances in their credit archives.

According to Article 24 of the Measures for the Retrospective Management of Food Safety Information of Shanghai Municipality, if the producers and operators of traceable food and edible agricultural products commit any of the following acts, the market supervision, agriculture and other departments shall, in accordance with their respective duties, order corrections; if they refuse to make corrections, they shall be fined between 2,000 and 5,000 yuan:
