The museum Qilu | Shandong Tai'an Xintai Cultural Heritage Collection: blue glazed lotus pattern four series of jars

North Dynasty blue glazed lotus pattern four-series jars. In 1983, the Southeast Guan Community of Qingyun Street Office in Xintai City, Tai'an, Shandong Province, was excavated, and it was a national third-class cultural relic. Height 15.0 cm, caliber 8.4 cm, abdominal diameter 16.1 cm, base diameter 8.6 cm. Round lips, extravagant mouth, short neck, shoulders, bulging abdomen obliquely closed, cake foot, shoulder evenly distributed four mud strips complex, four series of lower decoration of a week of water ripples, the upper part of the abdomen is decorated with lotus patterns, and the middle part of the convex edge.

In the late Eastern Jin Dynasty, simple lotus petal patterns began to appear on porcelain, and during the Southern and Northern Dynasties, decorative techniques were greatly expanded and more abundant, so they were rich in religious colors. The porcelain makers of the Southern and Northern Dynasties used their ingenuity to skillfully combine the decorative lotus pattern with the traditional porcelain modeling of our country, enriching and developing the decorative art of Chinese ceramics.
