In addition to losing money, the Qing government also designated Dongjiaomin Lane in Beijing as an embassy district, which allowed foreigners to garrison troops, but not Chinese.

In addition to the infuriating treaty, what is even more infuriating is that when the Eight-Power Alliance invaded Beijing, there were a large number of Chinese aided and abetted the abuse.
