The drama "Guijie Street" was composed by Wang Zhili, a literary writer of Jingwei'er and who has created tv dramas such as "Love Man Courtyard" and "Little Woman Under the Gate of Zhengyang", and the screenwriter Yang Shuo created a story framework according to the characteristics of the drama.
Yang Shuo introduced that he chose three stages of the development of Guijie: in 1988, the reform and opening up came to the tenth year, Guijie opened the first hotel; in 2008, the Beijing Olympic Games, Guijie began to be well-known and popular; now on the eve of the Beijing Winter Olympics, "I hope that through the display of the work of "Guijie", more people will know, understand and like guijie and let the culture of Jingweier make more people know, understand and like."
The story takes Beijing's gastronomic landmark "Guijie Street" as the theme, spanning more than 30 years of the development of Guijie Street, depicting the ordinary fireworks life of three generations of people, such as the Li family and the Jin family, who live in Guijie Street. Starting from the perspective of the protagonist Li Yidao, the story skillfully connects the relationship between several groups of characters such as "father-son love", "the way of family" and "the righteousness of the neighborhood", and through two sets of parallel time and space, shows the sour, sweet and bitter spicy of the first restaurant in Guijie Street, from the beginning to the end, and from decline to prosperity, showing the new appearance of the times presented by a street in the years, and also reflecting the cultural development and historical changes in Beijing over the past few decades.
