On January 1, 2022, when the new museum of Hubei Provincial Museum was fully completed and opened, the 2022 New Year Concert of "One See the Carillon" was brilliantly staged. The concert features zenghou yi chimes (replicas) of the ancient Chinese "king of musical instruments" and the Western "king of musical instruments" piano on the same stage, presenting an audiovisual feast that integrates ancient and modern, Chinese and Western, and integrates song, music and dance.
The concert first began with the "heavy instrument of the country" Zeng Houyi chimes playing Sheng Shihuazhang, the song and dance performance "Chimes Ringing Up", and the chimes ancient music "Golden Sound and Jade Zhen", allowing the audience to experience the ancient Chinese liturgical civilization through time and space. A solo piano piece, "The Bells of Las Palmas", in which Western composers more than 200 years ago imagined the sound of bells in piano music. Next, the "King of Musical Instruments" between China and the West truly met, and the chimes and piano ensemble "Nine Songs" were brilliantly interpreted, showing the audience an artistic "dialogue" that transcends time and space, and the beauty of the differences and harmonies between Chinese and Western cultures.
After the chimes and dances "Li Le Tianxia", the solo "Feitian" and the flute solo "Peach Blossom Ferry", the chimes and the double piano ensemble "My Motherland", the sonorous bells and the agitated piano tone collide in the familiar melody, exciting, majestic, and feminine, implicit and both, depicting the fearlessness of the heroic people and the magnificent rivers and mountains of the beautiful motherland, which deeply affected the audience. The concert ended with the song and dance "Don't Forget the Initial Heart", and the actors and the audience jointly prayed for the safety of the country.
The concert was hosted by the Hubei Provincial Museum, co-organized by the School of Music of Jianghan University and the Wuhan Qintai Piano Museum, and the two pianos appeared on the stage were century-old antique pianos of the Steinway family, the top brand of pianos.
The concert will be held twice in the morning and afternoon of January 1, each lasting 45 minutes. After making an appointment to enter the museum and purchasing tickets at the Chimes Concert Hall of the Hubei Provincial Museum, the audience is required to measure their body temperature and wear a mask to enter.
