Often likened to Princess Diana due to a similar sense of fashion, Princess Kate wore a red Alexander McQueen long coat when she visited the Cliff Court Nursing Home in Bath in December 2020, strikingly similar to the red Catherine Walker jacket Diana wore when she visited Birmingham in 1984. The only real difference was that Kate was wearing a mask.
On the left, Meghan and Prince Harry attend the wedding of Princess Diana's niece Celia McCockdale in 2018; right, Prince Charles and Princess Diana visit Saudi Arabia in 1986.
On the right, Princess Kate wears a royal blue Zara blazer and Hope's pleated skirt during her May 2021 Mini Tour of Scotland, which is very similar to the two-piece suit worn by Princess Diana in 1992 in the left picture.
When Princess Kate stood on the steps beyond Lindo's wing again after Prince Louis was born in 2018, royal fans couldn't help but point out the similarities between Kate and Diana. Princess Kate's Jenny Packham red dress looks very similar to the dress Princess Diana wore when she took Prince Harry out of the same hospital in 1984.
On the left, Princess Charlotte wore a pair of red leather-buttoned shoes that once belonged to her uncle Prince Harry in 1986 when she visited Germany and Poland with her parents in 2017. And not a replica, because there are matching wear marks on the shoes.
During Prince Harry's royal visit to Africa in September 2019, Prince Harry traced the footsteps of his mother, Princess Diana, who walked through the partially cleared Angolan minefield in 1997. Prince Harry put on body armor and a mask and inspected the bush area where the charity was clearing mines.
Prince Louis grabbed the limelight at the Royal Parade in 2019, when he first appeared on the balcony. The one-year-old waved, laughed and pointed to the plane that flew overhead, and King Louis was adorable in the arms of his mother, Princess Kate. The Little Prince Louis, wearing a shirt with a pattern of white and blue with blue shorts, pays tribute to his father, Prince William, and his uncle, Prince Harry, who wore the same clothes in 1984 and 1986, respectively.
The picture on the right shows that in 2018, Savannah Phillips covered Prince George's mouth to calm him down; exactly 28 years ago, in 1990, Prince Harry covered Princess Beatrice's mouth with his hand.
Prince George first appeared at the Royal Parade in June 2015 on the right, wearing old clothes left by Prince William himself, compared with prince William wearing the same light blue at the 1984 Royal Parade. Prince George looked pleased to debut on the balcony, pointing to the sky during the RAF overflight.
The two photos were taken on the wedding day of Princess Diana and Princess Kate, when the brides arrived at Buckingham Palace after the wedding. The two nearly identical photographs were taken thirty years apart, and the two brides arrived at Buckingham Palace in the same carriage, a touching tribute to Princess Kate's mother-in-law, Princess Diana, whom she had never met.
In the picture on the right, on the Queen's 89th birthday in 2015, Prince George looks excitedly out the window, playfully sticking out his tongue. Pictured on the left is in 1988, where Prince Harry playfully spits out his tongue.
On the left, Prince William, dressed in a Honeyton baptismal gown, lies in the arms of his mother, Princess Diana. During its 163 years of royal service, 62 royal infants have worn this dress. The cream dress worn by Prince Louis is a replica of a lace and satin dress made for Queen Victoria's eldest daughter in 1841.
Pictured on the left in July 2013, Prince William and Princess Kate walking out of the Lindo Wing with their newborn son, Prince George, and Kate wearing Jenny Packham's polka dot dress. The choice of this costume was undoubtedly inspired by Princess Diana, pictured on the left in 1982, when Princess Diana introduced her first son, Prince William, to the world in a polka dot dress.
Pictured on the right, at a state dinner at Buckingham Palace in 2015, Kate wore one of Princess Diana's favorite headdresses for the first time. In 1981, the Queen lent the Valentine's Day Crown to Princess Diana as a wedding gift, although Princess Diana wore a Spencer headdress for her wedding, and the Valentine's Knot Crown was her favorite.
Following the weddings of Prince Harry and Meghan and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, Gabriela Windsor married Thomas Kingston in May 2019, and all three newlyweds were married at St. George's Church. The photos were all taken after the ceremony.
