Introduction: In the town of Shitang in Guilin, Guangxi, there is a cemetery that is very strange, and a tombstone actually has the names of two people written on it. The male's name is Wang Xinguo and the female's name is Lu Wenyu. According to the local villagers, these two people are not husband and wife and partners, and even the two do not know each other, the reason why they are buried together is for a more sad reason. Whenever these two people were mentioned, the local people could not help but shed tears.
In 1920, Wang Xinguo was born in Shitang Town, the only child in the family, and his parents attached great importance to him. Later, Wang Xinguo was successfully admitted to Guilin Normal University, where he made friends with a group of progressive people and read many progressive books. Wang Xinguo slowly thought about life, and in 1941, he joined our party and became an underground comrade. After graduating from the Normal College, Wang Xinguo was photographed as a teacher in Guilin City, while covering for the party's activities.
Who knows, with the continuous invasion of the Japanese, the Kuomintang could only retreat step by step, and they also came to Guilin, which was located in the rear area. Here, the Kuomintang re-strengthened its management of the city, and some military command agents secretly arrested our party underground people. Later, due to the betrayal of traitors, Wang Xinguo's identity was exposed, and he was discovered by the Kuomintang. In order to kill him, the Kuomintang convicted him of being a traitor and sentenced him to death in public. When the people of Shitang Town heard about this incident, everyone was extremely angry. They were well aware of Wang Xinguo's character and virtues, and they absolutely did not believe that Wang Xinguo was a traitor.
Later, the underground comrades of our party told the story of Wang Xinguo to the people of Shitang Town, and everyone understood what was going on. In order to commemorate Wang Xinguo, but also let Wang Xinguo return to his homeland. The local Lu family ceded the grave of their mother, Lu Wenyu, to Wang Xinguo. It is hoped that Comrade Wang Xinguo can be secretly buried. Later, after Lu Wenyu's death, the family reburied and did not occupy the cemetery. As a result, the martyr Wang Xinguo was able to lie in his hometown. After the founding of New China, people carved Wang Xinguo's name on Lu Wenyu's tombstone. Many people thought that this was a joint burial tomb, but in fact, there was only one martyr Wang Xinguo lying inside.
