Sowing the seeds of environmental protection and technology, Tesla public welfare activities entered the campus

On December 30th, Tesla held a public lecture hall at Baijiazhuang Primary School in Beijing. Baijiazhuang Primary School is the national laboratory school of the United Nations Sustainable Development Education Project, Tesla in the form of campus public welfare science and energy environment, new energy travel and other intelligent technologies, to encourage students to imagine the future travel, sowing the seeds of environmental protection and science and technology.

At the beginning of the activity, the difference between the current situation of the earth and the past was shown through video, so that the students deeply understood that the changes in the earth's ecological environment are closely related to the fate of all mankind. When talking about a series of serious air pollution, water pollution and noise pollution caused by over-exploitation and use of fossil energy, many students expressed concern.

Since the Industrial Revolution, human economic and social development has relied too much on fossil energy, and the excavation and utilization of the earth's traditional energy stock has gradually gone to the extreme, and has brought many problems such as resource shortage, environmental pollution, and climate change. Fossil energy is gradually depleted, and the damage to the ecological environment is becoming more and more severe. As a result, new energy technology, as a new way of energy utilization, is entering our lives. Tesla lecturer told the students that close to nature does not mean destroying the environment, the use of science and technology to develop solar, wind, hydro and other energy sources, can minimize the damage to nature.

The application of new energy not only drives the rapid development of electric vehicles, but also brings a healthy, green and safe way of travel. Thanks to the application of clean energy, the energy utilization efficiency of electric vehicles exceeds 80%, and Tesla has increased the energy utilization rate to more than 90%, which has greatly reduced the pollution emissions in people's travel. As of the first quarter of 2021, Tesla has reduced carbon dioxide emissions by more than 16.96 million tons, saved more than 5.6 billion liters of fuel, and accumulated more than 44.3 billion kilometers of electric travel miles for users.

Not only does electric vehicles reduce the impact of travel on the environment, Tesla starts from the "source" and pays attention to energy conservation and carbon reduction in the production and manufacturing process. Tesla's "2020 Impact Report" mentioned that in 2020, Tesla has saved a total of 5 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent in the use of cars and solar panels around the world; Tesla's battery raw material metal can reach 92% reuse, and the waste recovery rate generated during the construction process of Shanghai Gigafactory is as high as 96%.

Through the evolution of the earth's ecological environment and the scene of the ecological crisis, Tesla lecturers guided the students to adhere to a low-carbon and environmentally friendly green lifestyle. In the classroom, the students spoke enthusiastically and shared how they would start from their daily lives in the future to protect our common planet.

As a pioneer in the development of new energy applications, Tesla is accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy through practical actions. Tesla gives full play to its own advantages, popularizes environmental protection education for primary school students through public welfare activities, promotes the majority of young people to establish the concept of sustainable development, brings a low-carbon and environmentally friendly green lifestyle to more students, and guides more children and teenagers to participate in the action of accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy.
