One of the most senior was Zhao Lianyu's deputy division commander.
Zhao Lianyu is a native of Zhuanghe, Liaoning, born in 1930, at the age of 11, he began to herd cattle and work for landlords, and at the age of 14 he was arrested as a laborer, after the liberation of his hometown, he joined the army at the age of less than 16, and then participated in the liberation wars in Andong, Benxi, Liaoyang and other places, and later participated in the Battle of Pingjin.
In 1962, under the arrangement of the organization, Zhao Lianyu entered the Nanjing Advanced Infantry School for further study, received a more formal military science education, and after graduating from the school in 1964, he served as the captain of the "Four Qings", and a year later, he returned to the army as a deputy division commander.
During the counterattack against Vietnam, Zhao Lianyu led the 126th Division of the 42nd Army to fight dozens of battles, capturing Gaoping, Liangshan and other places, on March 5, the war was basically over, Zhao Lianyu led the troops back, who knew that unexpectedly, on the way back to China, Zhao Lianyu was unfortunately assassinated by the enemy.
On March 9, when Zhao Lianyu led the regimental battalion cadres to survey the terrain on a high ground in the Bannau area, they were discussing the next action plan when they were suddenly sniped, Zhao Lianyu was killed on the spot, and the soldiers also arrested the murderer on the spot, an old man who was not proud of himself.
The murderer is an old man, in fact, this conclusion is not correct, Zhao Lianyu was assassinated by a sniper rifle, so after the murderer's confession, our army felt that his identity was not ordinary, it turned out that this person was called Nguyen Thanh Hung, a retired soldier, after Vietnam's independence, he was tired of war, so he went home to be a farmer, when the war broke out in 1979, Nguyen Thanh Thiệng threw himself into battle again, disguised as a farmer, and stabbed Zhao Lianyu with a sniper rifle.
At that time, we learned that when the war began, Vietnam was a full name soldier, whether it was young and old women, or whatever, as long as they picked up the gun, they were a soldier, our army was invincible, and it was a pity that such a result was finally caused.
This incident actually tells us that if the war starts, it will be no longer friends and benevolence, and when the US army fought against the Vietnamese army, it suffered a lot of losses, which has a first time, and there must not be a first time, otherwise it is also unfair to our own team.
The two countries are at war, there is no mercy to speak of, do not be deceived by the weak appearance of the enemy, and eventually cause unnecessary damage and regret.
