On November 5, 1921, in the royal palace in Alexandria, Egypt, a baby girl fell to the ground. She was a prominent descendant of the Muhammad Ali dynasty of Egypt; her ancestors were from France and had been a soldier under Napoleon; she was the sister of King Mohammed Farouq of Egypt: Princess Fassya Foad.
Fassya spent her early years in the Egyptian royal palace, and later went to Switzerland to study, where she received a good education and was fluent in English and French in addition to her native Arabic. Unconsciously, Princess Fassya has emerged and become a famous little beauty.
In order to consolidate the power of his new dynasty, the then King of Iran, Reza Khan, decided to find his crown prince, Muhammad-Reza Pahlavi, as his wife.
After some screening, he fell in love with the Egyptian princess, who combined beauty and wisdom, and with the consent of Princess Fassya's brother Farouq I, the marriage between the royal families was finalized.
In May 1938, Princess Fassiya, who was less than 17 years old, was married to The Crown Prince of Iran, Pahlavi. In March 1939, they held a grand wedding in Cairo, Egypt, and Hedland, Iran, but it is worth mentioning that the pair, in the eyes of outsiders, are a match made in heaven and have a foundation of affection. Before the wedding, they only saw each other once.
After marriage, the newlyweds settled in Tehran, and Princess Fassya also joined her husband in Iranian citizenship. Two years after their marriage, Iranian King Reza Khan was exiled in a coup d'état, and the young Crown Prince Pahlavi succeeded to the throne of Iran, and Fassiya became the Queen of Iran.
On september 21, 1942, the cover of the well-known American magazine "Life" published a photo of Queen Fasya, and her super high appearance immediately caused quite a stir.
The photographer who took this photo was the British photographer Cecil Beaton, who is not a nobody, he has taken a lot of photos for marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and other superstars, and his vision is quite high. In Cecil's words, Fassya is the "Venus of Asia," with a flawless heart-shaped face and slightly dull, yet deep, blue eyes.
To what extent is Fass Yamei? At the time, people often compared her to the famous Hollywood actresses Heidi Lamar and Vivien Leigh. If you add this aspect of temperament and bloodline, then I am afraid that no one in this world can surpass her.
Although a queen, Fassya's life in Iran was not pleasant. Fassya lived in the wealthy Egyptian royal palace and Switzerland since childhood, and was not adapted to the relatively backward living environment in Iran at that time. Her husband, Pahlavi, may have been a good monarch, but he was not a qualified husband. Due to the lack of emotional basis in the marriage of the two, Pahlavi soon cheated. Coupled with the fact that Fassya and Pahlavi's sisters did not get along well, in Iran, the beautiful queen actually suffered from depression.
The intolerable Fassya left Iran after six years of marriage and returned to her hometown of Egypt. In Egypt, she filed a divorce request with the Iranian side, but it has been ignored by Pahlavi. It was not until 1948 that Pahlavi agreed to her divorce claim.
After that, Fassya became Princess of Egypt again.
In 1949, Princess Fassya remarried to Ismail, a colonel in the Egyptian Army, whose new husband, although not from a prestigious background, was a high-achieving graduate of Cambridge University and an important figure in Egyptian politics.
I thought I could start a new life, but in 1952, there was a coup d'état in Egypt, and Fassya's family was forced into exile. During this time, her husband Ismail also died of illness, leaving herself and a pair of children alone.
On July 2, 2013, the legendary last Egyptian princess died in Alexandria at the age of 92.
