Mr. Cao Jingjian, a chinese football referee, former deputy director of the Referee Committee of the Chinese Football Association and deputy director of the Football Teaching and Research Department of Beijing Sport University, passed away on December 28, 2021 at the age of 85. Let us extend our deepest condolences to Mr. Cao Jingjian!
Mr. Cao Jingjian, born on October 27, 1936, was awarded the "Outstanding Contribution Award" by the Chinese Football Association. He was one of the first international referees in China, and all the referees in the early domestic leagues received his training and were known as the "originators of Chinese football referees".
Biography of Cao Jingjian
In 1954, he was admitted to the Central Institute of Physical Education (i.e. Beijing Sport University) and began his refereeing career;
After graduating from secondary school in 1957, he was admitted to the college as an undergraduate, and in 1961, he stayed on to teach in the school, and the peach and plum were all over the world;
Since 1963, he has participated in the law enforcement of the National Football League for six consecutive years, and participated in the law enforcement of football matches in the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth National Games, and after retiring from the army, he served as the chief arbitrator and referee of the league and the National Games;
In 1973, the Office of the State Sports Commission organized a football referee class in Wuzhou, Guangxi, and appointed Cao Jingjian and Zhou Guangda as lecturers, which also became the "Whampoa Military Academy" in the field of Chinese referees;
In 1979, recommended by the Chinese Football Association, Cao Jingjian became the first batch of international referees in China, and in 1979 and 1980, he was an international referee for two consecutive years.
In the past few decades, Cao Jingjian has brought out generations of football referees with the strength of one person, including international referees such as Zhu Liuyi, Huang Gang, Lu Jun, Sun Baojie, Zhang Lei, Tan Hai, and international assistant referees such as Zhang Qingguo, Li Zhizhong, Zhu Hongqing, Li Dongnan, and Liu Yutao.
Since the Football Association entrusted Beijing Sports University to set up a "referee class" since 2001, Cao Jingjian has trained more than 50 future domestic league referees. In 1979, Mr. Cao was selected into the AFC Seven-member Group, participated in the Malaysian referee training class, and was awarded the international referee qualification.
Mr. Cao's student Sun Baojie once said in the interview: "My class teacher, Mr. Cao Jingjian, with his noble sentiments and superb teaching art, fully demonstrated the charm of the teachers of Beijing Sports University, laid a solid foundation for the ideological quality and professional knowledge of our students, and also played a vital role in my growth." Mr. Cao is extremely serious, meticulous and dedicated to the work, which teaches us the attitude we should have at work, loyalty to the party's education cause, and love for the motherland and the people, so that I can be meticulous and conscientious after entering the society. In the business of football refereeing, Mr. Cao can constantly absorb new knowledge, strive for excellence, give full play to the subjective initiative of students in teaching, and inspire us to think positively. ”
