The 2021 Guangdong Province "Governor's Cup" Youth Campus Football League (High School, Middle Vocational Group) Provincial Finals recently came to an end at Wuhua County Senior High School in Meizhou City. The tournament is the highest level of competition for campus football in Guangdong Province this year, and it is also a major review in the eight years since the establishment of the "Governor's Cup".
The 2021 Guangdong Governor's Cup Youth Campus Football League has been successfully held for eight sessions so far. This year's event is jointly sponsored by the Department of Education of Guangdong Province and the Sports Bureau of Guangdong Province, and hosted by the People's Government of Wuhua County. The competition is set up as a high school boys' group, a high school girls' group and a middle vocational group, all of which adopt an 11-person system, and a total of more than 1,200 athletes from 68 teams (high schools and secondary vocational schools) from all over the province participate. The tournament lasted 21 days and a total of 156 matches were staged.
The highest level of competition is the high school boys' competition, the top eight teams gathered in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Meizhou, Qingyuan four strong teams, each game is played intensely and exciting. Three teams in the Guangzhou area reached the final four and finished in the top three. In the end, Guangzhou Yuyan Middle School, led by Guangdong football star Tan Ende, became the last king, which was the first time that Yuyan Middle School won the championship in this category in the Governor's Cup.
The final of the high school girls' group was held between Wuhua County Senior High School and Yingde No. 1 Middle School. In the end, the host Wuhua County Senior High School girls' team won the championship, which was also the first time that the school won the championship in the Governor's Cup. The final of the middle vocational group was held in the two traditional strong teams Dongguan Electronic Technology School against Guangzhou Tourism Business Vocational School. In the end, Dongguan Electronic Technology School was highly skilled, and they won the championship under the leadership of the Korean coach, and twice won the championship in this category in three years.
From 2014 to 2020, the "Governor's Cup" Football Tournament Youth Campus Football League held the provincial finals in the prefecture-level cities in Guangdong Province, and this year for the first time, the provincial finals were held in the county-level city of Wuhua County. Wuhua County was the first stop for the introduction of modern Chinese football to the mainland, and it is also the hometown of the famous football king Li Huitang.
Wuhua County's mass football foundation has always been strong, and in the past two years, it has hosted major national football competitions such as the China League One, the Chinese Champions League, and the FA Cup. During the hosting of the "Governor's Cup", the Wuhua County Party Committee and the county government attached great importance to the event, and the government departments at all levels adhered to safety first, organized and guaranteed strongly, acted as a good host, and carefully provided first-class services, winning the general praise of all participating units.
At the same time, with the success of the Meizhou Hakka football team, Wuhua County has also become the first county-level city in the history of Chinese football to have a Chinese Super League team. The successful holding of this year's "Governor's Cup" in Wuhua County has added a lot of color to the development of the event in the past eight years.
After eight years of development, the Guangdong Governor's Cup Football Tournament Youth Campus Football League has developed into the largest and highest level of secondary school campus football top competition in Guangdong Province. On this competition platform, many outstanding players have emerged over the years to enter the best lineup of the national campus football winter and summer camp, and have been selected by various professional football clubs in the province to enter the echelon, and many students with excellent ball learning have thus been kicked into key universities in China. In this tournament, all the teams and players participating in the competition showed a good style and discipline, especially in the life outside the game, showing the vigorous vitality and courage to challenge the spirit of the youth in the new era.
After eight years of development, the "Governor's Cup" Football Tournament Youth Campus Football League is no less professional than the Chinese Super League in terms of competition organization. The competition official specification of this tournament is the highest in the past, consisting of 8 competition supervisors, 1 referee, 7 deputy referees and 55 referees from 21 prefecture-level cities in the province.
Among them, the game supervision and referee are served by the Guangdong Youth Campus Football Expert Committee and the Guangdong Football Association Referee Committee, and the referees are from major universities in the province, the provincial football association and the local municipal football association units. Among the referees, there are 2 referees in the Chinese Super League (active duty), 2 referees in the Chinese First Division, 2 referees in the Chinese Second Division, 1 referee at the international level, 15 referees at the national level, and the rest are national first-level referees. Among the 7 female referees of this tournament, there is also 1 female Super League referee.
Among them, Li Haixin, an active international referee, took the oath on behalf of the law enforcement referee team, and he also enforced the opener and two other matches before going to the Suzhou division of the second stage of the Chinese Super League. During this tournament, all referees are also specially organized to participate in special examinations for theory and physical fitness.
At present, Guangdong Province is actively building a "five-in-one" campus football three-dimensional promotion pattern of "characteristic schools + high-level football teams in colleges and universities + pilot counties (districts) + reform pilot areas + 'full of stars'" in accordance with national requirements, and comprehensively promotes the establishment of provincial campus football promotion schools and provincial pilot counties (districts) on the basis of the layout of provincial campus football promotion schools and provincial pilot counties (districts).
As of 2020, Guangdong Province has successfully created 3 national youth campus football reform pilot zones in Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Meizhou; 5 "full of stars" training camps in Haizhu District, Tianhe District, Futian District, Zhongshan City, Meizhou City, Meijiang District, Huizhou Longmen County, Qingyuan City Qingcheng District, Zhanjiang Wuchuan City, etc.; 5 "Full of Stars" training camps in Meizhou City, Bao'an District of Shenzhen City, Luohu District, Tianhe District of Guangzhou City, longmen County of Huizhou City, etc.; 1894 guangdong Experimental Middle School, etc The primary and secondary schools were created as national youth campus football characteristic schools.
In addition, in order to accelerate the popularization of children's football, Guangdong Province supported kindergartens in the province to actively declare and create 392 national football characteristic kindergartens, of which 104 were identified as national demonstration parks. As the "echelon construction" of national-level characteristic schools, a total of 2696 provincial youth campus football promotion schools and 41 provincial youth campus football pilot counties (districts) have been identified.
In the future, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education and the Guangdong Provincial Sports Bureau will further improve the competition format of the "Governor's Cup" Youth Campus Football League (high school and middle vocational group), and strive to build the event into the country's premier sports and education integration event brand.
