Canglang Pavilion, founded in the Northern Song Dynasty, is the oldest existing garden in Suzhou, with pavilions, galleries, windows and bamboo being the most famous. Wise man happy water, gentleman teacher bamboo. The bamboo is dashing and elegant, bent without bending, folding and continuously, representing the gentleman's graceful demeanor and the gentleman's integrity. The ancients loved bamboo, and the literati and inkers chanted for it, painting lyrically, and also formed a unique bamboo culture.

There are more than 20 kinds of bamboo planted in Canglang Pavilion, which are scattered throughout the garden and can be seen almost everywhere. These bamboos are planted according to different locations, or planted alone, or into forests, or with three pairs, which fully reflects the elegant aesthetic mood of the gardeners.

Bamboo is the embodiment of a gentleman, and there are seven virtues: bamboo is straight, rather than bent; it is righteous. Although bamboo has a bamboo knot, it does not stop; it is to forge ahead. Bamboo is straight and hollow, and it is like a valley; it is a humble heart. Bamboo has flowers that do not bloom, and the plain face is facing the sky; it is simple. Bamboo transcendent and independent, standing tall in the sky; it is Known as Zhuoer. Although bamboo is known as Zhuoer, it is not like pine; it is a good group. Bamboo zaiwen has been passed down from generation to generation, and it is a responsibility.
