The temperature in many parts of South Korea, including the capital circle, is expected to drop sharply, and the first cold wave warning this winter will take effect at 21:00 on the 24th.
The South Korean Meteorological Agency said on the 24th that the cold wave warning covered many parts of the capital Seoul, Gangwon Province and parts of the central region. The minimum temperature in Seoul will drop to minus 14 degrees Celsius on the 25th, the maximum temperature will be minus 8 degrees Celsius, and the strong wind will make the body temperature as low as minus 22 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, will drop to minus 13 degrees Celsius on the 25th. Temperatures in Daejeon will drop to minus 10 degrees Celsius.
On the 24th, there was light snow in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area and parts of the central region. On the same day, there was heavy snow on the east coast of Gangwon Province, and it is expected that by the 25th, the total amount of snowfall in parts of Gangwon Province will reach 200 mm.
On the 26th, the temperature in South Korea is expected to drop further, and the minimum temperature in Seoul will drop to minus 16 degrees Celsius. This cold wave is expected to last until the 27th.
Yonhap News Agency reported that the South Korean meteorological department issued a cold wave warning when the minimum temperature in the morning dropped by more than 15 degrees Celsius from the previous day, or the minimum temperature fell below minus 15 degrees Celsius for more than two consecutive days, or predicted that the sudden drop in temperature could cause major damage.
