According to media reports, at about 3:00 a.m. on December 23, a new energy vehicle parked on the side of gangfeng Road in Haikou, Hainan Province, caught fire, affecting surrounding vehicles and buildings.
Judging from the on-site photos taken, this electric vehicle has been burned beyond recognition, leaving only non-combustible parts such as body skeletons and wheel hubs, and a small car parked behind it has also been burned to complete scrap, while the surrounding building walls as a whole have been blackened, and some air conditioning units have also been directly burned, which can be said to be a mess.
Although it is not clear which model caught fire, the rim, the rear window triangle window and the design behind the C-pillar are very much in line with the characteristics of the WM EX5, and it is worth noting that this is the third time that the model has caught fire this month.
Just after 7 o'clock on December 22, the same fire accident occurred in the WM EX5 on Conch 1st Road in Jiyang District, Sanya City, Hainan Province, and firefighters arrived at the scene to reconnoiter and found that the fire of the electric vehicle that caught fire was in the combustion stage, and after intense firefighting, the fire was successfully controlled.
At about 4:30 a.m. on December 20, at a charging station near Changjiang Road, Biyun Road, Zhengzhou City, a WM EX5 (suspected) that was charging suddenly caught fire, and the vehicle was burned and only an empty shell was left, fortunately, there were no casualties.
In fact, WM EX5 also had a spontaneous combustion incident in October last year, after 4 consecutive burns, WM finally announced the recall of a total of 1282 electric vehicles, and replaced the power battery packs provided by other suppliers for free.
But a year later, the spontaneous combustion incident started again, and I don't know how to solve WM Motor, and we will continue to pay attention to it in the future.
