Liupao tea is named after the town of Liubao in Cangwu County, Wuzhou, Guangxi, and like many teas in China, it is a regional product. According to historical analysis, Liupao tea has a production history of more than 1500 years, which can be described as a long history. From ancient times to the present, the place of origin has gone through three stages with the changes of the times.
First, the ancient Liupao tea production area
The famous description of Liupao tea: "Tea production duoxian township liupao, the taste is mellow and unchanged, the tea color and aroma are excellent", from the "Cangwu County Chronicle" during the Qing Tongzhi period. This remark not only said the characteristics of Liupao tea, but also clarified the origin of Liupao tea. The former Six Forts were the "Duoxian Township".
In ancient times, Cangwu had eleven townships under it, of which Duoxian Township was located in Jiangbei, and there were six administrative units from the first fort, the second fort to the six forts, and duoxian township was also named Liubao Township. Due to the prosperity of the tea trade, the area where Liubao Town was located on the map of Cangwu County at that time was marked as "Tea Pavilion". Therefore, Liubao Town was already a well-known tea production and marketing area in the Qing Dynasty.
Therefore, in ancient times, the six forts tea producing areas, including the head fort to the six forts, a total of six forts.
Today, according to the administrative division, it is the Buyi Village Production Area (Gugongzhou Tea Area), Tangping Village Production Area (including Heishi Tea Area), Gongping Village Production Area, Shanping Village Production Area, Siliu Village Production Area (Guluodi Village Tea Area), Dachang Village Production Area, Anle Village Production Area, Yongsheng Village Production Area, Sifeng Village Production Area of Libu Town, and Loudi Village Production Area of Libu Town.
Second, the modern Liupao tea production area
After liberation, a hundred wastes are waiting to be rebuilt, and Liupao Tea bears the mission of exporting foreign exchange, which is particularly important. The Guangxi government conducted a thorough investigation and divided Liupao tea production into three regions:
Liupao Tea Area: Gaojian, Tangping, Buyi, Siliu, Wutong, Lichong, Liubao, He County. The annual output is more than 500,000 jin, of which Tangping and do not rely on the production of tea are the most.
Wupao Tea District: Anle, Wansheng, Fufeng, Dabei, Mubark, Minsheng, Heyuan, Funing, Taizheng, Shizhai and other ten townships. The annual output is more than 370,000 pounds.
Changfa Tea District: Heshui, Waishen and Wuling townships, with an annual output of more than 10,000 jin.
At this point, the tea gardens in the two districts of Cangwu Wubao and Liubao are centered on the yellow shoot roof, unfolding along the stream, and connecting with the Hexian Tea District in the north to form a Liupao Tea Area.
Since 1954, the state has implemented a policy of unified purchase and marketing of tea. By the early 1960s, the production area of Liupao tea was not limited to Liubao Town, but expanded to Guilin, Heng County, He County (present-day Hezhou), Shanglin County, Lingshan and other areas. After the purchase of Mao tea in these places, it was uniformly concentrated in Wuzhou Tea Factory, Hengxian Tea Factory and Guilin Tea Factory for processing.
Third, the modern Liupao tea production area
Liupao tea has a history of thousands of years of precipitation, in order to make full use of this characteristic resources and promote the local economic development of Wuzhou, the Wuzhou Municipal Government decided to apply for geographical indication protection products for Liupao tea. And in 2011, it was approved by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China, and the scope of protection is within the administrative jurisdiction of Wuzhou City.
This means that only the Liupao tea produced in Wuzhou City and the jurisdiction of Tengxian County, Cen Xi, Mengshan and Cangwu can be called Liupao Tea. Therefore, after Liupao tea is called a landmark product, such as Hengxian Tea Factory, Guilin Tea Factory, etc., it is no longer possible to produce Liupao Tea.
Nowadays, only the older generation of tea people know the existence of these origins, and they have made brilliant contributions in the history of the development of Liupao tea. Perhaps, Liupao tea, a rare raw material of Guiqing on the market, can find traces of the above origins.
At present, the origin of Liupao tea is only within the administrative jurisdiction of Wuzhou City. The production of modern craft Liupao tea is basically concentrated in Wuzhou city, and there are a few in Liubao Town; the production area of traditional craft Liupao tea is in Liubao Town (Liubao, Hakou, Dazhong, Gaofeng, Wutong, Daning, Siliu, Lichong, Buyi, Tangping, Pingping, Shanping Yao Village, Silkworm Village, Puwang, Jiucheng, Shouxi 16 administrative villages and a Liubao community).
The changes in the production area of Liupao tea do not have a story of ups and downs, twists and turns, and in terms of fame, there is no Pu'er tea mountain to be loud. For Liupao tea, the place of origin is important, but the process is equally important. The place of origin may represent the name, but the quality of tea is closely related to raw materials, processes and storage, and is indispensable.
