On 23 December 2021, the snooker Champions League Group 2 was all over. Dort fought back from the edge of the elimination zone to 4th in the group and eventually emerged from the single-loss stage to join the winners' group. Ryan Day, Ronin, Perry and Xiao Guodong will move to Group 3, with Lisowski and Gary Wilson eliminated.
After the group stage in Group 2, Ryan Day, Ronin and Perry all finished with 4 wins and 2 losses, ranking 1-3 in the group respectively. Xiao Guodong had won only 1 matchday with 2 wins and 2 losses the previous day, while Dort had won both matches on the second matchday. In the end, Dort and Xiao Guodong's records were both 3 wins and 3 losses, and Dort squeezed out Xiao Guodong with the advantage of winning the game to qualify for the last single-loss stage.
In the single-loss stage, Ronin and Dort defeated Perry and Ryan Day in the decider, respectively. In the group final, Dort won the match point 2-0 without playing 50+, Ronin shot 2 50+ in the 3rd set to make it 1-2, and Dort scored a single 97 points in the 4th set to beat Ronin 3-2 to join the winners' group.
