Visa-free continuously! Bayern officially announced the second signing: signed a 3-year contract with the Bundesliga assist king, and then recruited Dort's main player
On June 23, Beijing time, Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich officially announced the signing of Borussia Dortmund left-back Guerrero, and the two sides will sign a contract for 3 years to 2026. With Guerrero's contract with Dort expiring this summer, Bayern don't need to pay any transfer fees to bring him in.
This is also Bayern's second signing this summer, after Bayern also introduced Lemer, the midfield core of RB Leipzig, another Bundesliga contender, in a visa-free manner. Bayern have signed two contracts this summer, and neither has yet spent a transfer fee.
Born in 1993, Guerrero plays as a left-back and can also play as a left-midfielder and central midfielder. In 2016, Dortmund spent 12 million euros to bring him in. He made 224 appearances for Dort, scoring 40 goals and 50 assists, winning two DFB-Pokal titles. Guerrero has been outstanding this season, contributing six goals and 14 assists in 36 games. Among them, 12 assists in the league have made him the assist king of the Bundesliga this season. Guerrero is also a current Portugal international who played with the national team at last year's World Cup in Qatar, winning Euro 2016 and UEFA Nations League 2019. Currently on the German "Transfer Market", Guerrero is worth up to 20 million euros.
Previously, Guerrero turned down Dort's offer to extend his contract for 3 years, and he eventually chose to join direct league rivals Bayern. In the new season, Guerrero will be a rival to Alfonso Davis, and also sees Guerrero as one of the midfield options.
