This story is excerpted from the Awakening World Hengyan, and in order to facilitate everyone's reading, the ancient chinese text has been slightly changed.

It is said that during the Tang Dynasty, a show talent in Yangzhou was called Huang Yizhi, who was twenty-one years old at the time, looked like a table of talents, plus five cars of learning and wealth, and was only eight buckets high, and was pushed as a talent by his peers. He was originally a famous man, but due to the early death of his parents, the family fell into the middle of the road. However, when his father died, he left him an heirloom, which was a pony carved from white jade, called the Jade Horse Pendant. Although the jade horse pendant is petite, but the color is warm, the carving is fine, it is a rare treasure, Huang Xiucai is very fond of it, and wears it every day.
One day, when Huang Xiucai was wandering the street, he met an old gentleman. This gentleman has childlike crane hair, a yellow silk ribbon around his waist, a crown of leaves on his head, and a leisure fan in his hand, looking like a noble man. The old man looked at Huang Xiucai and smiled slightly, and Huang Xiucai was flattered and quickly and respectfully invited the old man to the tea house to drink tea. The old man gladly accepted the invitation, and the two went into a tea house to drink and chat together. At this time, the old man pointed to the jade horse pendant hanging from Huang Xiucai's waist and said: Good fall! I don't know if I can take it down for me to enjoy? Huang Xiucai immediately agreed, and immediately took off the jade horse pendant and handed it to the old man. The old man took the jade pendant and looked at it again, and even exclaimed: Sure enough, it is a good pendant, my old man wants to buy it, I don't know how much silver you want the prince? Huang Xiucai smiled and replied: "The jade horse pendant is my family's ancestral property and cannot be sold, but if you sincerely love this jade horse pendant, sir, I can give it to you without taking anything!" The old man was very relieved to hear Huang Xiucai's words, and he said gratefully: Since the prince is so generous, I will not resign, I will accept your jade horse pendant today, and he will repay your great righteousness one day! After saying these few words, the old man tied the jade horse pendant to the yellow silk tapestry around his waist, waved his hand, and suddenly disappeared! Huang Xiucai looked at it and was shocked, thinking that he had met the immortals who had attained enlightenment!
However, he said that Jingxiang Jiedu made Liu Shouzhi cherish Huang Xiucai's talent, so he sent someone to find Huang Xiucai with his handwritten letters, and wanted to hire Huang Xiucai as his own clerk and give him advice. Huang Xiucai was feeling flustered at home, wanting to find a career to do, and was very happy to see Liu Jiedu's envoy hire him as a staff member, so he immediately packed up and took a small boat to Jingzhou to meet Liu Shou. When the small boat came to the section of the Jiangzhou River, Huang Xiu saw a large boat moored in the river. Huang Xiucai thought to himself: If I can take this big ship to Jingzhou, I will not be afraid of the biggest wind and waves. Just thinking about it, he saw a sailor coming down from the big ship to the shore to buy wine, so he asked the sailor where the big ship was going. The sailor said: My master's surname is Han, and he is going to Shuzhong as a guest by big boat. Huang Xiucai listened, went to Shuzhong just passed through Jingzhou, so he gave the sailor three hundred copper coins as a tip, and asked the sailor to talk to his master after returning to the ship to see if he could let Huang Xiucai take his family's big ship.
After the sailor went back to pray to the master, the master Han Xiucai came out of the cabin to see Huang Xiucai, saw that it was a handsome-looking student, felt that there was no danger, so he waved Huang Xiucai on the ship, Huang Xiucai was very grateful, got on the ship to thank Mr. Han, and settled down in the rear cabin of the big ship to rest.
Huang Xiucai rested in the rear cabin for a while, and suddenly heard someone playing the guzheng in the middle cabin, and the sound of the guzheng was pleasant. The sound of this music reminded Huang Xiucai of Xue Qiongqiong, a prostitute in Yangzhou. Qiong Qiong is the best at playing guzheng, and she learned the guzheng with Hao Shansu, the first guzheng player in the Tang Dynasty at that time. And Qiong Qiong and Huang Xiucai are very good, so they often play a beautiful and pleasant guzheng for Huang Xiucai to listen to, and Huang Xiucai is very fascinated.
Today, Huang Xiucai heard a similar sound of guzheng on the big boat, and he was very curious about the person playing the guzheng in his heart, so he stretched out his head to peek. At this time the night is already a little deep, but the middle cabin is still brightly lit, Huang Xiu only peeked for a while, found that the curtain in the middle cabin opened a slit, through the gap in the curtain, Huang Xiu saw that the person playing the guzheng was a woman, the woman's long national color Tianxiang, feeling as delicate as a flower, more beautiful than Qiong Qiong, and at this moment the beauty of the delicate jade hand is playing with the strings, all this scene makes people so intoxicated, Huang Xiucai felt that he finally met the person he liked, and his heart was excited. He secretly vowed in his heart to marry this beautiful woman!
Since Huang Xiucai peeked at the person he liked, he fell in love at first sight and had no sleep all night, always thinking about how to get to know the girl, and then, he wrote a few beautiful poems expressing his lovesickness to praise the girl.
Finally, waiting for dawn, the big ship traveled all night, intending to stop and moor for a while. Huang Xiu found that Old Master Han went to a big boat next door to drink with others, so he went out of the rear cabin and boldly went to the middle cabin to greet the girl. When the girl saw Huang Xiucai, she felt that this book was beautiful and beautiful, and she also had a good feeling for Huang Xiucai in her heart, and when Huang Xiucai read the poems she wrote to the girl, the girl felt that Huang Xiucai was full of warp, and she also had a heart of admiration for Huang Xiucai. So the woman shyly told Huang Xiucai that her name was Han Yu'e, that she was the only daughter of Han Laoye, and that she was also the pearl in his palm, and that she had been learning piano, chess, calligraphy and painting since she was a child, and that she was a beautiful woman and a talented woman.
The two people fell in love at first sight in the middle cabin, admired each other, and even privately decided for life, the two talked for a long time, and they could not bear to separate. Later, it was Han Yu'e who suppressed her feelings and let Huang Xiucai go back to her cabin first, saying that her father should drink and come back in a moment. She asked Huang Xiucai to wait until the birthday of the three water gods in early October to meet her again, because on that day her father would take her to the river to watch the boat race god festival, Huang Xiucai listened to the excitement, and Han Yu'e made a vow to each other, the first three days of October will come to meet!
Since the two separated, Huang Xiucai has lived every day like a year, thinking about Han Yu'e, sullen and unhappy every day, that is, when he came to Liu Jiedu to do things in the mansion, he was also in a trance, as if his heart was very heavy, he thought about the first three days of October with Han Yu'e every day, this may be a man in love, reason is zero.
Finally, on the third day of October, he and Jiedu envoy asked for leave and wanted to meet Yu'e by the river, but because of the busy military affairs, Jiedushi did not approve his leave, so he secretly escaped from the Jiedu envoy's mansion and ran to the river by himself.
Arriving at the riverside, Yu'e was standing at the bow of a ship looking forward to Huang Xiucai's arrival. Because everyone else went to see the boat race to worship the gods, Yu'e's father went, and only Yu'e was alone on this boat, so Yu'e stood at the bow of the boat waiting for Huang Xiucai. Huang Xiucai ran to the river and saw Yu'e at a glance, he was anxious to pull the cable and was about to jump on the boat, who knew that a big wave suddenly struck, the cable was a little loose, Yu'e's boat was suddenly hit by the wave into the river, rolling away. Huang Xiucai saw that Yu'e's boat was swept away by the big waves, and he cried urgently, he expected Yu'e to be fierce and less lucky, he didn't want to live, and as soon as his eyes were closed, he was going to jump into the river.
Just when Huang Xiucai was about to jump into the river to be martyred, suddenly a voice sounded in his ears: No! cannot! Huang Xiucai turned around and looked at him, and the person who stopped him was the same old man who had taken the jade horse pendant from the tea house before. Huang Xiucai saw the old man, instantly shy and bitter, tears like rain, and then told the old man the reason for the matter, he felt that his lover was more fierce and less auspicious, and he did not have the heart to live alone. When the old gentleman listened, he touched the white whiskers on his chin and smiled, and said: Gongzi does not have to be anxious, the old decay I am proficient in divination, I just calculated it, you will still have a meeting day! Huang Xiucai was very surprised to hear it. At this time, the old man said: About a mile in front of this, there is a thatched temple, where there lives a Zen master, who is my brother-in-law, and if you go there for a few days, he will help you find your sweetheart. Huang Xiucai was even more surprised to hear this, but he said a little worriedly: That master doesn't know me either, so he won't necessarily take me in, right? The old man smiled slightly, untied the jade horse pendant from the yellow silk tapestry around his waist and handed it to Huang Xiucai and said: This jade horse pendant my brother often sees me wearing, you take the jade horse pendant to him to help, he knows that I let you go, will definitely help you. Huang Xiucai listened to the old man's words, was grateful, and was about to bow his head to thank him, when he found that the old man had long disappeared.
So Huang Xiucai took the jade horse pendant and walked forward for a mile, and sure enough, he found that there was a thatched temple in front of him, and the door was hidden, Huang Xiucai pushed the door in, and saw that there was a glass lamp in the Buddhist hall that was half-illuminated, and an arhat dressed like a monk was meditating on his knees, closing his eyes and settling down. Huang Xiucai did not dare to alarm the Zen master, so he had to kneel in front of the Zen master's seat and wait patiently. After about an hour, the monk finally opened his eyes, but he rebuked: Where are the mortals who dare to disturb my purity! Huang Xiucai hurriedly handed the jade horse pendant to Hu Monk with both hands, and begged Hu Monk to say: It was an old gentleman who asked me to come to the master for your help. The monk said, "My monk's heart is like ashes, and it doesn't matter what you have done to your children's private affairs!" Huang Xiucai repeatedly begged the master for help, so the master said: There is a gold ingot under my Buddha seat, you should rush to Chang'an as a coil, and when the time comes, you will meet each other. After saying that, I continued to meditate and settle down. After Huang Xiucai listened, he was suddenly sleepy and fell asleep.
When he woke up the next day, Huang Xiu found that last night's thatched temple was gone, he was sleeping in a broken wall, and there was no futon for the monks to meditate in front of him, which felt like a dream last night. But there was really a Buddha statue in this broken wall, and there was really a gold ingot under the Buddha seat, Huang Xiucai picked up the gold ingot and thought about it, he stole it from the Jiedu Envoy Mansion, and he definitely couldn't go back, and now he could only use this gold ingot as a coil to go to Chang'an to find another errand. Maybe the hu monk said that it was really possible to meet Yu'e again when he went to Chang'an! With this hope, Huang Xiucai went to Chang'an.
The words were divided into two ends, but he said that Mr. Han brought people back from the boat race, and when he missed his daughter's boat, he hurriedly asked the people on the shore, saying that the cable was not strong, and the boat was swept away by the big waves. Old Master Han was horrified, and immediately led people to search along the river, and he searched for many days in a row, and there was no news.
What is the fate of Yu'e? It turned out that Yu'e's boat was indeed blown over by the big waves that day, and Yu'e fell into the water and almost drowned, but fortunately was rescued by people on another boat. The person who saved Yu'e was called Mother Xue, who was an old bustard in the brothel where the prostitute Qiongqiong of Yangzhou worked. Qiong Qiong was selected to play music in the palace because she played the guzheng well, and she had been gone for more than two years, and Xue's mother wanted to go to Chang'an to visit Qiong Qiong because she missed Qiong Qiong, and happened to save Yu'e who fell into the water on the way to Chang'an.
Xue's mother asked Yu'e's history, Yu'e cried and told her own experience, and then told Xue's mother that she had made a lifelong decision with Huang Xiucai, and she believed that Huang Xiucai would find her in the future, maybe this is the power of love, let her be full of faith. Xue's mother because Qiong Qiong was also a good friend with Huang Xiu, and also moved by Yu'e's infatuation, so she decided to help Yu'e, she accepted Yu'e as a righteous daughter, she let Yu'e follow her to Chang'an first, and then slowly inquire about Huang Xiu's whereabouts later, Yu'e gratefully agreed.
Moreover, the day has unconsciously reached the Chinese New Year's Eve night, Yu'e thinks of her mother's death and father's departure, and her lover has no news, and she does not feel that she is secretly crying. After sleeping in tears at night, he dreamed that an arhat appeared in the air and threw a book of yellow paper to Yu'e, and the yellow paper wrote: Huaiyang Huangxiu has good music! Yu'e looked at the great joy. After waking up the next day, Yu'e remembered last night's dream and wondered if Huang Gongzi had also come to Chang'an? Did we see each other? When she was thinking wildly, suddenly a Hu monk actually opened her curtain and walked in, this Hu monk looked like the Luohan she saw in her dream, Yu'e was shocked, and couldn't help but take a few steps backwards. Only to see this monk stride into the Yu'e room, sit cross-legged and meditate with his eyes closed, and a circle of Buddha light appeared around him. Yu'e knew that it was Luo Han who had descended from the mortal, and hurriedly knelt down to pay homage. This arhat opened his eyes and said to Yu'e: You still have a disaster in the future, I will give you a thing, you must put it away, you must not let others see, this thing will save your life in the future! After saying that, he took out an object and handed it to Yu'e, which turned out to be the jade horse pendant. Yu'e received the jade horse pendant and was about to thank LuoHan when she looked up and found that Luohan was gone. Yu'e bowed and prayed in the air.
Speaking of Huang Xiucai, after he went to Chang'an, he began to study for the exam and prepare to take the meritorious name. In addition to reading every day, he walked the streets and alleys of Chang'an City to look for Hu Monk, but he couldn't find it everywhere, he was depressed in his heart, and he didn't know when Hu Monk was talking about when he would be able to meet Yu'e. Although he searched for monks all day long and could not be seen, the examination hall was titled. At that time, Lü Yongzhi's dictatorship was chaotic and chaotic, and others were afraid of being persecuted by him and did not dare to offend him, but after Huang Xiucai became an official in high school, he was not afraid of power and directly wrote to the emperor to describe the many crimes committed by Lü Yongzhi, and the emperor was furious, and immediately deposed Lü Yongzhi and reused Huang Xiucai. Since then, Huang Xiucai has been famous in the capital. At that time, everyone in the capital said that this Huang Daren was jealous and hateful, young and promising, and had not yet married, so that the matchmaker in the capital broke through the threshold of Huang Xiucai's family and wanted to kiss him. However, Huang Xiucai refused one by one, and he always remembered the words of the Hu monk, believing that he would meet with Yu'e in the future. At this time, Xue's mother also heard about Huang Xiucai's affairs, she was very happy for Yu'e, and she wanted to go to The Huang Mansion and Huang Xiucai to talk about Yu'e, but Yu'e instead stopped Xue's mother, she said: Mother, now that Lord Huang has become a high-ranking official and nobleman, she does not know whether he has changed his heart, or look at it again, in case he wants to climb the branches in the future and make friends with the young lady of the official and noble family, I will not delay his future again. Mother Xue felt that it was reasonable to hear it, she knew that Yu'e had a backbone, so she supported Yu'e's decision, and then observed Huang Xiu would not marry others.
The words were divided into two ends, and it was said that after Lü Yongzhi was deposed from his official position, he was idle at home, and sent people to look around for beautiful women for his enjoyment. One day, he heard others say that The Jade E of Mother Xue's family was a heavenly national color, a flower and a moon appearance, and he never easily saw people, so he moved his heart and immediately sent someone to Go to Mother Xue's house to snatch Yu'e over, and Mother Xue cried so hard that she could not stop the group of evil slaves.
After Yu'e was robbed of the Lü Mansion, Lü used one of them to see, and it was indeed a beautiful woman in the world, and he couldn't see enough, he hoped to marry Yu'e as a wife. He asked Ya Gui to bring a lot of gold and silver jewelry to dress Up Yu'e, and wanted to marry her immediately, but Yu'e threw the jewelry on the ground and cried for Lu Tozhi to let her go. Lü Yongzhi admired Yu'e very much, and did not ask the next person to embarrass her, but only ordered the people to coax Yu'e and persuade Yu'e to marry him.
It is said that After Lu Yongzhi ordered the people, he went to the lobby to deal with things, and suddenly the groom of the manger in the backyard came to report that a white horse had just burst into the rear manger, and he did not know where it came from, and when he went in, he bit all the horses in the manger, and then went straight to the inner house. Lü Yong was horrified, because Yu'e was in the inner mansion, he hurriedly took someone to the inner mansion to find the white horse, looked around but found nothing, he also thought that the groom was talking nonsense, and ordered someone to beat the groom with forty sticks. Subsequently, he went into the bedroom to personally persuade Yu'e, he said: I am extremely rich, as long as you marry me, I will immediately appoint you as the lady of the main house, so that you will be glorious and rich in your life! Yu'e just cried and begged Lu Yongzhi to let her go, she said: I have already promised someone else, and I will never serve my second husband in this life! Lü Yongzhi seemed to be soft, so he planned to take a hard bow, roll up his sleeves and prepare to hug Yu'e, at this time, suddenly a white horse appeared in the house, saw people bite, after biting the servant, he pounced on it to bite Lü Yongzhi, biting everyone in the room screamed one after another, biting Lü Yongzhi also, biting people, the white horse suddenly disappeared, Lü Yongzhi was shocked and angry, he knew that the white horse was a demon, so he immediately ordered people to go out to find a high-ranking person, wanting to subdue the white horse.
The next day, a Hu monk came to Lü Mansion and said that Lü Mansion had a demon spirit and that the master was in a great calamity. Lü Yongzhi listened and felt that this Hu monk was a bit of a Taoist, so he immediately treated him with courtesy and asked hu monk to catch the demon. Monk Hu looked around the mansion and pointed to the bedroom where Yu'e lived, saying that the demon in this room was very heavy. Lü Yongzhi saw that the Hu monk said it very accurately, and felt that the Hu monk was a high-ranking person in the world. So he asked the monk how to solve the evil? The monk said that the woman in this room was ominous, and whoever was close to her would be in a great calamity, and if Lü Used it to give this woman to others to enjoy, then this woman would go and harm that person. Lu Yongyi thought that what he hated most was Huang Xiucai, so it was better to put this demon next to Huang Xiucai and pass on the misfortune to Huang Xiucai the most.
Therefore, he immediately ordered someone to send Yu'e back to Xue's mother's house, and asked Xue's mother to go to the Huang Mansion to propose to Huang Xiucai and let her marry Yu'e to Huang Xiucai. Xue's mother was originally worried about Yu'e's comfort at home, but unexpectedly, Lu Yongzhi actually changed her mind not to marry Yu'e, but instead let Yu'e marry Huang Xiucai, and Xue's mother relaxed her heart and immediately went to the Huang Mansion to find Huang Xiucai and tell the ins and outs of the matter. Huang Xiucai listened, was very surprised, and immediately took Yu'e back to the Huang Mansion with Mother Xue, and the couple of sentient beings finally became dependents. At this time, Yu'e took out the jade horse pendant and said to Huang Xiucai: The two of us can reunite, thanks to the Luohan Immortal and this jade horse pendant, Huang Xiucai saw that this jade horse pendant is his ancestral thing, and he also sighed that there is providence in the darkness, so he set up an incense case, gave the jade horse pendant on the case, burned incense and thanked him. Mother Xue also knelt down next to her and prostrated her head. Suddenly, a white horse rose from the incense case and came out of the window, they hurried out to follow, but they saw a crane-haired and childlike old man standing in the clouds in the air, it was the old gentleman that Huang Xiucai had met in the tea house. Huang Xiucai and the three of them hurriedly bowed to the old man for a few times, only to see the old man riding on a white horse, and the smoke between his whiskers was cloudy and disappeared.
