Junshan Silver Needle was originally known as White Crane Tea. It is said that in the early Tang Dynasty, a Daoist named White Crane Zhenren returned from the overseas Immortal Mountain and planted the eight tea seedlings given by the immortals he had brought with him on Junshan Island. Later, he built the majestic White Crane Temple and dug a white crane well. The White Crane Man took the water from the White Crane Well to brew the immortal tea, only to see a white gas rising in the cup, and a white crane rose from it, which gave the tea the name "White Crane Tea". And because this tea is golden in color and resembles the feathers of yellow finches, it is also known as "yellow feathers". Later, this tea spread to Chang'an and was deeply loved by Tianzi, who made White Crane Tea and White Crane Well Water as tributes.
One year, when the boat carrying the white crane tea and the white crane well water crossed the Yangtze River, due to the turbulence of the wind and waves, the white crane well water on the boat was drunk. The governor who escorted the boat was so frightened that his face was like earth, and in a hurry, he had to take the river water instead. After the white crane tea was transported to Chang'an, the emperor ordered someone to make a cup of tea, only to see the tea leaves floating up and down without seeing the white crane soaring into the sky, wondering in his heart, and casually said: "The white crane is actually dead!" Since then, the well water of the white well has dried up, and the white crane real person does not know where the white tea has been passed down today is today's Junshan silver needle tea.
