According to Sina Technology, Discovery said on Wednesday that the European Commission had unconditionally approved the merger of Discovery and WarnerMedia, an asset owned by AT&T.

In May, AT&T announced it would spin off Warner Media, merging it with Discovery. In 2018, AT&T acquired Time Warner for $85 billion, and the spin-off was equivalent to abandoning many of the assets it had previously acquired. AT&T and Discovery will merge media and entertainment assets with the goal of integrating various TV channels, including Warner Bros., HBO Max and Discovery+.
