Red Net Moment December 22 (Correspondent He Keqin Su Weihua) Recently, at the annual meeting of the Digestive Endoscopy Branch of the Shanghai Medical Association, the Department of Gastroenterology of Yueyang Central Hospital was approved to become a member unit of the National Digestive Early Cancer Prevention and Control Center Alliance, and held an online awarding ceremony.
The National Alliance of Early Gastrointestinal Cancer Prevention and Control Centers (GECA) was jointly approved by seven units, including the National Center for Digestive Endoscopic Quality Control, the National Clinical Research Center for Digestive Diseases, and the Endoscopic Physician Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, under the initiative of Academician Li Zhaoshen of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, aiming to implement the healthy China development strategy, integrate superior resources, focus on the prevention and treatment of early cancer of the digestive tract, and promote the establishment of an early diagnosis and treatment system for digestive tract tumors.
According to the latest global statistics released by the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) in 2020, the number of new cancers in China ranks first in the world, of which digestive system tumors account for five of the top six malignant tumor mortality rates. Gastrointestinal tumors (esophageal, gastric, colorectal cancer) are major diseases that seriously endanger human health, with high morbidity and mortality, China belongs to a high incidence of countries, but has long been trapped in the dilemma of low detection rate of digestive tract diseases and high mortality. More than 85% of these patients were mid-to-advanced at the time of diagnosis.
The earliest symptoms of early tumors of the digestive tract are no symptoms, early screening is the best means of cancer prevention, gastrointestinal endoscopy + pathological examination is the gold standard for confirming gastrointestinal tumors and precancerous lesions. The figure below shows a case of early stomach cancer screened by a digestive center that has been endoscopicly treated with ESD. Early cancer changes are extremely subtle, it is difficult to find without examination and staining amplification, and it is easy to miss diagnosis without professional early cancer diagnosis capabilities.
The official award of the National Gastrointestinal Early Cancer Prevention and Control Center Alliance Unit marks that the hospital's gastrointestinal early cancer prevention and control level and ability have entered the national ranks, and will also promote the further standardization and scientificization of the diagnosis and treatment of gastroenterology diseases in the hospital, and promote the improvement of scientific research capabilities and the development of new technology projects.
