On December 16, 50 days before the opening of the Beijing Winter Olympics, the "Our Olympics" theme exhibition sponsored by the Beijing Municipal Archives, the Beijing Olympic City Development Promotion Center, and the Administrative Department of the Secretary of the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, and co-organized by the Capital Institute of Physical Education and Beijing Union University was launched at the Beijing Municipal Archives. Through more than 1,000 archives and documents, including pictures, audio and video, and physical objects, the exhibition reviews the memory of the 100-year Olympic Games and conveys the Olympic spirit.
The "Our Olympic Games" theme exhibition is divided into two parts: "Summer Olympics" and "Winter Olympics", showing the wonderful moments of the 32 summer Olympic Games and 23 winter Olympic Games for more than 100 years on a time axis, showing the struggle and struggle of Chinese sports from the blue wisps of the road to creating glory and then to building a sports power, vividly recording the wonderful story of the Chinese nation chasing the Dream Olympic Games. In the "Summer Olympics" exhibition hall, 32 panels are connected, displaying the participation medals of the previous Summer Olympic Games from the 1896 Athens Olympic Games to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, telling the origin and development of the modern Olympic movement. Among them, the beijing municipal archives such as the application for the 29th Olympic Games in 2008 and the "gold inlaid jade" medal were also all unveiled, reproducing the history of the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games from the bidding to the successful holding. With the Approaching Beijing Winter Olympics, the "Winter Olympics" section of the "Our Olympics" theme exhibition attracted many spectators to stop and watch. In the "Corridor of Time", they felt the passion of the Winter Olympics and the charm of ice and snow sports from the posters of previous Winter Olympic Games, mascots and the deeds of Chinese athletes who achieved good results.
At the exhibition site, Xu Haifeng, China's first Olympic champion, said that the course of China's sports development reflects the continuous enhancement of China's comprehensive national strength. At present, the construction of a sports power should attach importance to sports culture, and this exhibition is a good measure to publicize sports culture. Xu Haifeng said that after watching the exhibition, he is more looking forward to the upcoming Beijing Winter Olympics.
Yang Hongzhi, director of the Sports Department of Beijing Union University, who personally experienced the volunteer service work of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, said that when he saw the football referees and officials of the Beijing Summer Olympics in the exhibition to thank the volunteers of our school for signing the commemorative football, he could not help but think of the scene of warm service at the training ground. He believes that Beijing's competition volunteer service experience is rich, and volunteers will become a beautiful scenery on the winter Olympic field.
It is reported that the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games archives collected by the Beijing Municipal Archives are one of the most complete, complete and systematic Olympic archives preserved in the cities where the Olympic Games have been held. With the successful hosting of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games, Beijing will become the only "double Olympic city" in the world to have hosted the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, and the Beijing Municipal Archives will also become the "Double Olympic Pavilion" in the world to preserve the archives of the Summer and Winter Olympic Games.
