"Learning and excelling", this is a phrase that people are very familiar with, that is, a person, who studies well to a certain extent, can go to the career path, that is, become an official. This is an important way for ordinary people to change their fate in feudal society, and it is a very effective way to achieve success.
Of course, this kind of thinking has always had a profound impact, because it can not only change the fate of individuals, but also glorify the ancestors and benefit generations.
In ancient times, you could be a good official, step by step, good beginning and good end; if you were not good, you might still be cut off from the nine tribes and cut off your children and grandchildren!
Therefore, "excellent learning and shi" is not necessarily a good thing, then we must first find out whether we are suitable or not, and whether we will become this official.

Today, I will take a look at the experience of a great poet who is quite famous in the Chinese literary world and see if I am right.
"Shi Xian" Li Taibai, his fame is big enough, although he did not go through the imperial examination, but also entered the imperial court, but finally he was driven out, making him a disgrace.
Li Bai could have talked to people about swords, poetry, and the world, but he had always thought in his heart to realize the ideal of "living together with each other" in his life.
Because, Li Bai did not want his full talent of "reciting Liujia at the age of five, looking at hundreds of homes at the age of ten, looking at the strange books of the fifteen years, and being like a gift" to be buried, and even he himself thought that it was wasted.
Heaven is always fair to everyone, and there will always be opportunities, and in the first year of Tianbao (742 AD), Emperor Xuanzong of Tang issued an edict to solicit elders with a one-art art in white clothes, and Li Bai was on the list of summonses.
Why was Li Bai summoned by the emperor? This, of course, is inseparable from the power of his fans.
He Zhizhang not only called Li Bai
"Who Immortals"
, also praised Li Bai's "Dark Song"
"You can cry ghosts"
;
Du Fu is also known as Li Bai's poems
"The pen fell in a storm, and the poem became a weeping ghost god"
Some people say that Li Bai's swordplay
"Stand in the white blade and kill into the red dust"
Some people also say that Li Bai's remarks are exquisite
"The Theory of The Flower of Yue [càn]"
So many words of praise aroused the curiosity of Tang Xuanzong and his sister Princess Yuzhen, who very much wanted to see this god-like wizard. Therefore, he issued three edicts in succession and summoned Li Bai to the dynasty. This treatment is similar to Liu Bei's "Three Gu Maolu" asking Zhuge Liang to come out of the mountain, right?
At that time, Li Bai was traveling with some reclusive Daoist monks in the Huiji area, and one of them, Wu Yun, was also a summoned person, and he took a step into Beijing first.
Li Bai immediately went home to celebrate with his family, and then couldn't wait
"Laugh at the sky and go out"
Cema Yang whipped the west into Qin, still chanting in his mouth
"My generation is a basil person"
This is just a person who has been summoned to Beijing, if he is a jinshi and the first, he must not go crazy like Fan Jin.
This kind of performance of his just shows that he is not an official material at all, but he himself did not realize it. But he thinks he's that
"With economic talents, anti-nest festivals." Literature can change customs, and learning can be studied by heaven and man."
The talent has a chance to be displayed. That euphoria was as if he had found a fulcrum that would allow him to pry the earth.
But he didn't know himself, too naïve, too simple, too ignorant of the height of the sky, too ignorant of the depth of the imperial court, and the thinness of the eunuch sea.
When Li Bai first entered Chang'an, he was indeed received solemnly by the imperial court and was enshrined by Hanlin, that is, the emperor's adviser.
At this time, if he really wants to realize his ambitions, he should restrain his arrogant and arrogant nature, and should not be arrogant and arrogant.
Li Bai also thinks that getting along with those fans outside is the same, drunk all day long, looking down on this, not accustomed to that, can he not sin over time?
Although the things that once said "Gao Lishi took off his boots" and "Yang Guifei held the Yantai" were rumored by posterity as a good story, it can be seen from this that he has defects in his talent in his career.
He did not understand that there were people in the DPRK who were good officials and could not accomplish anything on their own. He did not understand that if he wanted to do things, especially in the imperial court, he had to endure humiliation and burdens and do it in a roundabout way. And you must have the country and ordinary people in mind, otherwise you are just looking for a big stage to show your talents, and you are doomed to go for a long time.
He was originally a man of extravagant romance, with the blood of a poet flowing in his bones, and he could not stand the suspicion of others in his heart, the villain's manipulation of right and wrong and framing, and even more unable to stand the restraints of the imperial court.
He has talent and ambition, but he does not have the humble face of a politician, the kind of wrist.
Therefore, in just three years, a short period of three years, Li Bai was slandered and framed and expelled from Chang'an!
This is a considerable blow to Li Bai, but it is fortunate for the poetry world, because poetry is the stage on which he can perform to the fullest.
As he later wrote, "I am born to be useful", everyone is a useful material, but it is necessary to see clearly in which circle their society is developing, otherwise they will waste their years and suffer their own lives. If it is a goshawk, it will soar in the sky, and if it is a fish, you will swim in the water.
Through Li Bai's situation, it shows that we must not take the promotion of the rank as the only goal of our own struggle, first of all, we understand what we are suitable for and what we like to do, because we cannot do porcelain work without diamonds.
