Cangci, the character Xiaoren, is a native of present-day Anhui.
Cangci initially served as a small official in the county, and during the Jian'an period, Cao Cao issued a recruitment notice in the Huainan area, recruiting personnel to tun tian and making Cangci a lieutenant.
Cangci worked in obscurity and worked here for many years, until the early years of Cao Pi's succession, when he made the Chang'an Order. During his term of office, Cangci was a clean and honest official, did not embezzle or accept bribes, was ruthless and lawless, and loved and feared him by subordinate officials and the people.

After being emperor for seven years, Cao Pi went to heaven to see his father, and Cao Rui succeeded to the throne, and in 231, he transferred Cangci to dunhuang taishou.
Dunhuang is located on the western frontier, very chaotic, especially in the war years, even the imperial court is beyond the reach of the whip, the position of Taishou has been vacant for more than twenty years, resulting in the local magnates and arrogant, do whatever they want, and over time, it has become a local custom.
Later, when the war subsided, the imperial court remembered the frontier and began to send Taishou to it. Cangci's previous taishou followed the customs of the local people, respected the local customs, and did not change or correct them.
After Cangci arrived in office, he changed the customs of the past, suppressed the forces of the powerful to attack them, and provided relief to the poor people, in the past, the large families occupied a lot of land, but the ordinary people did not have their own place to stand. Cangci saw the situation and distributed the surplus land from the large families to the poor people, so that they could only return the cost of the land year by year.
Cangci does not grab one or two, through this method to take into account the interests and demands of both sides, anyway, large households want so much land can not manage, rather than occupying the pit and not pulling, it is better to transfer it to people who need fields at a low price.
Previously, the litigation cases in Cangci's administrative office were piled up, and the county order could not be adjudicated, and most of them were gathered in the hands of Taishou. The previous Taishou was also troublesome, and most of the time they were stuffed into the safe. After Cang ci arrived in office, he personally reviewed the cases and selected the severity of them, if he had not committed a serious capital crime, Cang Ci would have beaten them up and let them go, even so, no more than ten people would be sentenced in a year.
It can be seen that only when the country is rich and strong, everyone will take care of those small things.
One of the things was that the Hu people in the western region were supposed to come to the Central Plains to contribute their wealth, but the previous big families and powerful people all obstructed them, blocking the road to stop them and preventing them from passing. When doing business with the Hu people, the local tyrants bullied them for being uneducated, deceived and insulted and despised them, which made the Hu people very unhappy. After Cangci's arrival, he comforted the Hu people, and all those who wanted to go to Luoyang were issued import and export licenses; and those who wanted to return from Dunhuang to the western regions, Cangci also bought and sold with them at market prices and exchanged money and goods.
When the Hu people were leaving, Cangci also sent officials and people to escort him on the road, and for a long time, not only the people thanked him, but even the Hu people soured their noses at him.
During Cangci's tenure, he used both soft and hard forces, either to surrender or eradicate the large and small forces around him, to reduce taxes, to restore production, to uphold justice, and to crack down on the powerful. Originally, many people could not stand the local customs and left their hometowns, but after Cangci, many people returned to their hometowns one after another. Dunhuang has regained its former prosperity, the Silk Road has been smoothed again, and exchanges between different cultures have gradually flourished.
Unfortunately, Cangci died in office within a few years of his work, and although such a sincere person has been recorded in history, he has not left a name (who knows this person when looking at the Three Kingdoms). In the vast history of more than a thousand years, there have been countless individuals, many of whom are obscure and buried by the dust of the years. Most people are ordinary people, without the courage and ability to turn the tide, and a few people are talked about, either because of their unique personality, or be the pioneer of a certain field or the princely general. However, there are still some people who do things in a down-to-earth manner, do not have the strength to pull up the mountains, do not have the intelligence to strategize, and do not have the literary brilliance of words. In the long river of history, they may have left only a few words, or some biographical history.
Xiangzi is older, there is no such pride and ambition as the wind and clouds, and now he prefers these people who really do things, and he also sees that kind of bland tenacity in them, and there is only one word in his heart: do!
After Cangci's death, the people and officials in the county were very miserable, just like their own family members died, and those who were good at painting painted his living image and remembered his appearance. When the Hu people in the Western Regions heard the news of Cangci's death, they all cried loudly, and some of them cut their faces with knives to show respect and mourning, and also built ancestral halls for him to commemorate him in the distant Western Regions.
