The Post: Chelsea are interested in bringing in Special Olympics to replace injured Chilwell

According to reports from the Spanish media, Chelsea boss Tuchel has asked club owner Abramovic for heavyweight reinforcements next month and has listed AC Milan player Theo Hernandez as one of his top targets.

The Blues took a huge hit after Chilwell was injured in Chelsea's 4-0 Win over Juventus in the Champions League and have since failed to keep a clean sheet. Tuchel's side drew 1-1 with Everton on Thursday night, and as the Premier League title battle intensifies, Tuchel believes the team cannot wait for Chilwell's return. Tuchel has reportedly asked Abramovich for someone who could replace the England defender and compete for the position with Marcos Alonso.

There are reports that Tuchel specifically mentioned Theo, who is also considered one of the best full-backs in the world at the moment. Failing to impress with Real Madrid, the defender moved to AC Milan in 2019 and has developed into a top player since coming to San Siro, recently selecting for the French national team for the first time.

The left-back, who has contributed 14 goals and 13 assists in three seasons in Serie A, is a key factor of interest to Tuchel. It is understood that the Blues will be in the lead in the fight for Special Olympics, abramovic looking to take advantage of the fact that Milan are out of the Champions League, while as Milan are fourth in the group, they will not even enter the Europa League.

Presumably, Chelsea are ready to make an offer next month. Tuchel recently confirmed that Chilwell has made progress on returning to the first team, but has not set a timeline for his return. Speaking on the club's website, Tuchel said: "He is in good mental and physical condition. He started running and everything looked fine. Therefore, hope remains, but we cannot confirm it. ”

"We're still there and we'll decide whether to seek an internal solution and whether we can overcome this period, it all depends on Chilwell's situation." It depends on how long he's out of the game and the replacement, if there's a chance to do something about it. We haven't started the process yet because we're going to focus on what matters most. The most important thing now is Chilwell and Marcos Alonso, and we're going to start here. ”
