Yixing, Jiangsu Province, reported the traceability results of two asymptomatic infected patients: both are Delta variants

On December 10 and 11, 2021, Yixing City reported a total of two cases of asymptomatic COVID-19 infection, both of which are close contacts of locally confirmed cases in other provinces and cities.

After sampling and genetic sequencing by the Wuxi Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the Jiangsu Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention reviewed the sequencing results, and the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed that the new coronavirus infected by the two asymptomatic infected people was a Delta variant.

According to the comprehensive epidemiological investigation of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention and provincial and municipal experts, as well as the search and comparison analysis of the virus gene database, it is believed that the virus infected by the two asymptomatic infected people and the virus genome of the locally confirmed cases announced by other provinces and cities are highly homologous and are in the same chain of transmission.
