According to the news released by the official website of Manchester United, Manchester United first-team coach McKenna has left the team and he will become the new manager of League One team Ipswich.

McKenna joined United five years ago as the club's under-18 youth team coach and his ability to work was quickly recognised by the club, being promoted to first team staff during Mourinho's tenure in charge and having been an important member of United's first team coaching team during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's tenure.

McKenna said: "It has been a great honour to work for Manchester United for the past five years and I will always be grateful to Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, I have learned a lot over the last four years and am delighted to be part of such a dedicated group of staff, I would like to thank Ralph Longnick, I have enjoyed the short time with him and I am very grateful for his understanding of me throughout the whole [I'm going to coach Ipswich] process. ”

"From the time I started my coaching career, being the manager of a team has been my ultimate ambition and now I have a fantastic opportunity to do that at Ipswich, a club with a glorious history. I would also like to thank the United staff and players who have worked with me over the years and wish all the best for Ralph Lonnick and manchester United, an incredible club. ”
